GANDERBAL: In a significant initiative aimed at enhancing awareness and capacity-building among youth, Sankalp Hub, under Mission Shakti Ganderbal, today organized a Vocational Training (VT) program at ITI Ganderbal.

The program was conducted in association with the Employment and Counselling Centre Ganderbal, the Department of Handicrafts, and the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) to educate students about a wide range of government schemes, including those focused on skill development, entrepreneurship, and financial assistance.

The session saw active participation from both male and female students, reflecting a growing interest in understanding government-backed initiatives that promote self-reliance and economic empowerment. Subject-matter experts from various departments provided in-depth training on schemes catering to employment generation, skill enhancement, financial inclusion, and women’s empowerment.

Representatives from the Employment and Counselling Centre offered insights into career guidance programs, job placement initiatives, and self-employment schemes. Officials from the Department of Handicrafts elaborated on government support for artisans, market linkages, and subsidy programs aimed at fostering entrepreneurship. Experts from NRLM discussed the role of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in financial upliftment and community-led development. Additionally, various flagship schemes related to skill training, startup funding, and vocational education were introduced to the participants.

The program fostered a dynamic exchange of ideas, allowing students to engage in interactive discussions and gain clarity on eligibility criteria, application procedures, and long-term benefits of these schemes.
