SAMBA: Government Degree College Ramgarh hosted a SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) Workshop for Campus Ambassadors drawn from Higher Education Institutions and designated SVEEP officials. The workshop was conducted by District Nodal Officer SVEEP Ekshu Sharma (AD Handloom) along with Assembly Constituency Nodal Officers from District Samba.
The workshop was well-represented by officials including BDOs from the Assembly Constituencies in Samba District including BDO Mukesh Kumar AC-69 Ramgarh, CDPO Sheetal AC-70 Samba and BDO Parul Khajuria AC-71 Bari Brahmana. The event also saw significant participation from SVEEP nodal officers and campus ambassadors from five Government Degree Colleges of Samba District and Central University of Jammu.
Key attendees included Dr. Sweta Chowdhary, Nodal Officer SVEEP SPPND GDC Samba; Pallavi, Nodal Officer SVEEP GDC Purmandal; Dr. Vani Awasthi, Nodal Officer SVEEP GDC Ghagwal; Dr. Ashwani Kumar, Nodal Officer SVEEP Central University Jammu, Prof. Sandeep Kumari, Nodal Officer SVEEP GDC Ramgarh and Dr. Manoj Heer from GDC Vijaypur.
The programme was organised under the guidance and supervision of Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, Principal of GDC Ramgarh. The workshop aimed to enhance voter awareness and encourage active participation in the upcoming legislative assembly elections. Ekshu Sharma provided an insightful session on the responsibilities of a thorough electorate, the electoral process, and the usage of voter helpline apps to facilitate voter engagement. The workshop was attended by all the faculty members and students of the college.
