JAMMU: The Department of Educational Studies at Central University of Jammu organized an Extension Lecture titled “Small Particles and Their Big Impact on Ecosystem Health” as part of the Seventh Shiksha Shashtrarth series. The event, held at the Malviya Shiksha Bhavan, was aimed at the students of the B.A. B.Ed. Integrated Programme. The Shiksha Shashtrarth initiative, established by the School of Education, serves as a distinguished platform for intellectual discourse and academic enrichment.
Dr. Shweta Yadav, Associate Dean of International Relations and Assistant Professor of Environmental Science at Central University of Jammu, was the keynote speaker for the event. Her presentation focused on the significant role of aerosols in ecosystem health and their broader implications for society. Dr. Yadav discussed the connection between aerosols and climate change, as well as their impact on Sustainable Development Goals, including Climate Action, Good Health, and Sustainable Cities and Communities.
The session began with a welcome address by Ms. Shivali Khajuria, the Teacher Coordinator for the event, who later presented a token of appreciation to Dr. Yadav on behalf of the Head of the Department, Prof. Asit Mantry, Dr. Yad Ram, and Ms. Khajuria herself.
Following Dr. Yadav’s insightful lecture, a Q&A session allowed students to engage with her on various pertinent topics. Dr. Yadav’s discussion was informed by global research perspectives and aimed at fostering a deep understanding of the issues at hand.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Khajuria. The presence of faculty members including Dr. Kiran, Dr. Aman, Dr. Yad Ram, and Dr. Shashikant Mishra added to the significance of the occasion.
