JAMMU: The Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management, Central University of Jammu organised its Student Induction Program on September 04, 2024 for newly admitted students to the MBA (Marketing Management) programme for the academic session 2024-26.
The program started with the lamp lighting and Saraswati Vandana, where Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of the University graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Sh. Gaurav Gupta, Former Secretary General, CCI-Jammu Chapter and Sh. Rupesh Mansson, Regional Director, UCMAS J&K were invited as Guest of Honour.
Along with Chief Guest and Guests of Honour, Prof. Yashwant Singh, Registrar of the University, Prof Jaya Bhasin, Dean, School of Business Studies, and Prof. Ajai Pal Sharma, Head, Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management were also present on the dais.
Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor blessed the students by welcoming them at the University and exhorted them to follow the change to move ahead in the career. He also emphasized that they should focus on becoming job providers, not the job seekers. Prof. Jain also elaborated that how new technologies are emerging in the business world and why they should embrace such changes.
He also warned them that it’s not easy to be an entrepreneur, but no one can stop those who dare to be. With the benign hands, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor handed over the kit bags to all the newly admitted students.
Prof. Ajai Pal Sharma, Head of the Department formally welcomed the students and all the dignitaries, on the dais and off the dais. He enlightened the students about the purpose of the Student Induction Programme (SIP). He shared that the purpose of any SIP is to help students adjust to the new academic environment, familiarise them with the regulations and academic standards of the University, and to acquaint them with the resources and support services available to them. He also motivated the students to establish cordial connections with the fellow students and the teachers as well.
Prof. Yashwant Singh, Registrar of the University also welcomed the students and apprised them about all the statutory officers and other administrative functionaries of the University. He assured the students that the whole administrative staff is always ready to extend full support to them. He emphasised that CUJ is fully functional on the Samarth Portal and all students should learn and register themselves on that portal, as all activities shall be governed through that portal.
Prof. Jaya Bhasin, Dean, School of Business Studies educated the students about the functionalities of the whole school and assured them of all help from her office. She also sensitized the students about the office of GSCASH and motivated them not to involve in any activity which is against the mandate of the University. Dr. Neelika Arora, Associate Professor elaborated about the achievements of each faculty of the department and made the students aware about life at campus through a beautiful video clip. Dr. Anju Thapa, Assistant Professor explained about the course structure, syllabus, and other options available to the students across all the four semesters.
Sh Rupesh Masson, the Guest of Honour took the students to the digital world and gave them tips on how they can earn in dollars by sitting at home. He emphasised that the whole world is open to you, only ‘willingness to do’ is needed to explore the business world. He invited the students to his wide array of companies for internships. Sh Gaurav Gupta, the Guest of Honour also emphasised that you all should follow the change to move with the fast paced business world.
He said that India is the fifth largest economy at present, and shall be the third very soon, surpassing Germany and Japan. He talked about the youth power and motivated the students to contribute in making the Bharat a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047.
Ms. Prerena, Assistant Librarian shared about various resources available at the University library and how they can avail such services. Assistant TPO talked about the support services available at their office and assured the students of their full support in getting them placed at good organisations.
Dr. Naresh Kumar, Assistant Proctor talked about the role of the office of Proctor in maintaining discipline in the University and motivated them not to be involved in any act of indiscipline. Dr. Shahid Mushtaq, Assistant Professor posed the vote of thanks to all dignitaries and the students.
Dr. Ranjeet Raman, Head, Department of TTM, Dr. Mahinder, Associate Professor, Department of TTM, Dr. Amit Gangotia, Sr. Assistant Professor, Department of TTM, and Dr. Arun Yadav, Assistant Professor, Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management was also present on the occasion to bless the students. The students of Semester-III participated enthusiastically in welcoming and organising the program.
