POONCH: A black bear that had strayed into the residential area of Baila, in the Mandi Tehsil, was successfully captured alive by the Wildlife Department the other day. The bear had posed a potential threat to local residents, but swift action by authorities ensured its safe capture and release.
The bear was transported to its natural habitat and released in the Tata Kutti Wildlife Sanctuary known for conservation and support of wildlife. The department expressed gratitude to the local community for their cooperation during the operation.
Local residents have expressed their appreciation for the prompt response of the Wildlife Department, acknowledging that the timely intervention saved lives and prevented any harm to both the bear and humans. "We are thankful to the Wildlife Department Poonch for taking immediate action to ensure our safety," said a local resident.
