UDHAMPUR: District Employment and Counselling Centre Udhampur organised a district level mela to encourage women entrepreneurship and Self Help Groups (SHGs). The event aimed at motivating and guiding youth especially women towards skill development, gainful employment and self-reliance. The programme was graced by Additional District Development Commissioner, Jugal Kishore Anand as the chief guest.

Addressing the gathering, he underscored the importance of skill-based empowerment and urged women to avail opportunities under Mission YUVA to achieve economic independence.

A major highlight of the mela was the sale–cum-exhibition stalls put up by the self help groups and women entrepreneurs showcasing a wide range of products and entrepreneurial initiatives. The chief guest inspected the stalls, interacted with SHG members and lauded their efforts aimed at achieving self-employment and financial empowerment. More than 300 women entrepreneurs and SHG members participated in the mela.

The event was organised under the guidance of Deputy Director Employment, Mohinder Sharma and Assistant Director Employment, Priyanka Gupta.  All SBDU members actively contributed to the smooth and successful organisation of the programme.
