JAMMU: The Department of Educational Studies, Central University of Jammu successfully organised the second session of the debate cum discussion activity as part of the Swami Vivekananda Youth Parliament under the esteemed patronship of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Sanjeev Jain and the insightful guidance of the Head of the Department Prof. Asit Mantry.
The event held at Malviya Shiksha Bhawan, was coordinated by Dr. Arvind and brought together an intellectually stimulating discussion on the theme "Jammu and Kashmir State Elections: Strengthening the Prospects of Hope and Democracy."
The session witnessed the active participation of students, including Eklavya, Rashmi, Alok, Prangya, Ritik, and Talib, who engaged in a deep and insightful discourse. The discussion revolved around the pivotal role of elections in restoring political stability, ensuring governance, and upholding democratic values in Jammu and Kashmir, a region often at the heart of national attention.
The speakers emphasized that elections serve as a cornerstone for fostering democratic hope in a conflict-sensitive state like Jammu and Kashmir, where political representation is critical to bridging regional aspirations and promoting peace. They discussed how free and fair elections can instil a sense of empowerment among citizens and enhance trust in democratic institutions.
