JAMMU/SRINAGAR: Ahead of the first phase of polling, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Jammu & Kashmir convened a crucial meeting with 22 enforcement agencies to ensure the effective implementation of election guidelines. From enforcing dry day regulations to overseeing voter awareness campaigns under the SVEEP initiative, the state is witnessing a flurry of activities aimed at promoting free and fair elections. Events ranging from cultural performances to interactive sessions with electoral staff are intensifying engagement across districts, ensuring robust preparedness for the upcoming assembly elections.

JAMMU: In order to maintain the sanctity of the much awaited J&K Assembly Elections 2024, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), J&K, Pandurang K Pole on Saturday convened a meeting of 22 Enforcement Agencies at Nirvachan Bhawan, Rail Head Complex here. 

The meeting was also attended by Additional CEO Rahul Sharma, Special Secretary Nirupa Rai Nodal Officer Expenditure Monitoring UT of J&K and Under Secretary Huma Khan among others.

The agencies were sensitized about the inter-agency coordination, stressing for prompt action and consequent seizures of freebies including drugs, liquor and cash meant to lure the voters around 72 hours before the commencement of Phase 1 of the J&K Assembly Elections.

In the phase 1, elections will be held on 18 September, 2024 across the 24 Assembly constituencies in seven districts-Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam and Anantnag in Kashmir Division; and Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban in Jammu Division.

In order to impose strict vigil, CEO exhorted upon the agencies to ensure close monitoring at all the entry and exit points of Jammu and Srinagar airports; while instructions were also issued to monitor the similar activities both at the interstate check posts and border check posts across the union territory.

The CEO also instructed all the financial institutions including Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and UTLBC to keep a strict vigil on the suspicious digital transactions by banks and the institutions were instructed for the onward submission of such transactions to the Income Tax Department for appropriate action under the laid down financial laws.

Giving reference to the guidelines laid out by the Election Commission of India (ECI), the CEO asked J&K Excise Department to ensure the strict implementation of all the restrictions provided in Excise Act on the storage of liquor in unlicensed premises.

“The Excise Act must be vigorously enforced during the period of 48 hours ending with the hour fixed for the conclusion of poll as envisaged in guidelines laid out by the ECI”, the CEO stressed.  Additionally, the Excise Department was also directed to ensure strict enforcement of restrictions on dry days.

The CEO also directed the J&K Excise Department to launch special drives to unearth illicit liquor making factories; destruction of illicit liquor; and establish backward linkages for liquor intercepted in neighboring states of Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab and UT of Ladakh.

To curb the cultivation of Opium and Cannabis, the excise department was asked to utilize the services of Lumberdars and Chowkidars of hotspot villages in J&K UT.

Meanwhile, the agency-wise seizures made till date from the announcement of J&K Assembly Elections 2024 were also discussed and all the agencies were asked to gear up their efforts to ensure effective seizures during election process so as to uphold the guidelines of ECI regarding conduct of inducement free and fair Elections.

Relief Organisation holds pledge ceremony on voting

JAMMU: Relief Organisation, J&K today organized a pledge ceremony  at Head Office here wherein all employees of the Organization pledged to cast their vote in favour of  deserving candidates without the influence of religion, caste, region, language or   any inducement and to strengthen the spirit of democracy by ensuring fair and free voting . The oath was administered by Relief and Rehabilitation  Commissioner (M) , J&K, Dr Arvind Karwani.

Pertinent to mention that, the Relief Organization is organising series of SVEEP activities in migrant camps and non-camp areas to increase voter awareness and literacy. This inter-alia includes symposiums on theme of democracy, rallies, nukkad nataks, plantation drives and signature campaigns.

The migrants are voting at special polling stations established for them at Jammu, Udhampur and New-Delhi on 18th September ( South Kashmir), 25th September ( Central Kashmir ) and 1st October ( North Kashmir ) , as per the schedule of voting in Assembly constituencies of Kashmir Valley. Besides, the migrants have also the option of casting vote through postal ballot.

BARAMULLA: In an effort to boost voter participation in the upcoming Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, the District Election Office Baramulla organised a Mega Voter Awareness Programme under the SVEEP (Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation) in the heart of the world-renowned tourist destination of Gulmarg.

The event was presided over by the Election Observers appointed for Baramulla, Aparna U, Killu Siva Kumar Naidu, Kuldeep Narayan, Ujjwal Kumar, Sidlingappa Teli, Prakash Borgohain and the District Election Officer for Baramulla, Minga Sherpa.

The proceedings of the mega event were kicked off by the designated expenditure observer for Baramulla, Sidlingappa Teli and DEO, Baramulla, from the Gondola Base Station at Gulmarg. The ATV Rally witnessed huge participation from the local citizens, spreading the message for enhanced voter participation.

The program continued at Gondola Phase-II Station, the world’s highest cable car-connected peak, where the Election Observers and the DEO for Baramulla flagged-off an enthusiastic trekking group towards Afarwat Peak, standing at 14,400 feet, inspiring young and first-time voters to engage in the democratic process.

Meanwhile, a huge number of tourists and new voters captured memorable selfies at the SVEEP Selfie Stand at Phase II, Afarwat, and later gathered together to be captivated by the mystical Rabab performance by the National Bal Puraskar Awardee, Ishfaq Ahmad and others.

As part of the SVEEP activity, the Election Observers and DEO Baramulla participated in a plantation drive at Kongdoori, under green election initiative underscoring the commitment to promote green elections.

Meanwhile, a vibrant array of cultural programs unfolded at Kongdoori, with students and new voters enthusiastically performing on election-centric themes, including folk, rouf, Qawali, Skit etc., with an aim to promote enhanced electoral literacy.

In a symbolic gesture, the Election Observers for Baramulla and DEO distributed EPIC cards among newly registered voters who will be eligible to exercise their right to franchise for the first time during Assembly Elections 2024.

During the program, the Election Observers underscored the vital importance of every eligible voter participating in the elections to choose a candidate who will represent their interests in the assembly, thus playing a crucial role in shaping the country's future.

Minga Sherpa expressed his gratitude to all the participants and the organizers of the program for making it a resounding success and urged all the eligible citizens to cast their votes on the 1st of October, the day district Baramulla goes to polls.

SHOPIAN: The District Election Office, Shopian organized the second round of training for Micro Observers at the Government Degree College (GDC) Shopian.

These Micro-observers are set to be deployed for poll day duties across the two assembly constituencies of 36-Zainapora AC and 37-Shopian AC.

The training was conducted in two sessions under the supervision of Nodal Officer, Dr. Gulzar Bin Rehman and District Level Master Trainers. Micro Observers were briefed about their critical responsibilities on Election Day.

General Election Observer for 37- Shopian, Roohi Khan addressed the Micro Observers, highlighting their essential role as the ‘eyes and ears’ of the Election Commission of India and stressed that their duties range from monitoring polling station preparations to overseeing mock poll procedures and reporting post-poll findings.

During the session, Khan responded to queries from the Micro Observers, especially regarding the 18-point report they are required to submit for each polling station.

District Election Officer, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar emphasized the need for diligence, urging Micro Observers to remain vigilant during the polling process to ensure free and fair elections.

A total of 194 Micro Observers have been deployed across 251 polling stations, with 51 kept in reserve. Out of these, 91 will oversee polling in the 37-Shopian constituency, while 103 will monitor the 36-Zainapora constituency.

DEO holds Interactive Session with Sector/ Zonal Magistrates at Town Hall Anantnag

ANANTNAG: To review election preparedness ahead of the Assembly elections, the District Election Officer (DEO) Anantnag, SF Hamid convened a review meeting with Sector and Zonal Magistrates and other officials today at the Town Hall, Anantnag.

The session aimed to ensure a robust election process and emphasized the critical role these officials play in upholding the integrity of the electoral process.

The DEO stressed the importance of strict adherence to the Model Code of Conduct and instructed the magistrates to ensure impartiality in their duties. He highlighted the need to monitor and address any instances of electoral malpractice.

The DEO also called on the officers to remain vigilant and be in sync with the latest protocols and procedures mandated by the Election Commission of India (ECI).

The review also included mock drills and simulation exercises to familiarize officials with the use of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verified Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) etc Notably, the poll day in Anantnag is scheduled to be on 18th September.

SVEEP: YSS Ganderbal hosts Volleyball Competitions to promote Voter Awareness

GANDERBAL: In an effort to increase awareness and encourage voter participation, the Youth Services and Sports (YSS) Ganderbal today organized Volleyball competitions for boys in Zone Kangan and Zone Tullamulla.

These events were conducted as part of the broader Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative, aimed at educating the community about the importance of electoral engagement.

The Volleyball competitions, held under the banner of SVEEP, are part of a district-wide awareness campaign, implemented on the directions of the District Election Officer, Ganderbal. The initiative seeks to utilize sports as a platform to inspire the youth and the broader community to actively participate in the electoral process, emphasizing their role in strengthening democracy.

Exciting SVEEP events hosted across Rajouri to promote voter awareness

RAJOURI: A series of Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation events were organized today in five constituencies of Rajouri District here under the directions of District Election Officer Abhishek Sharma and the guidance of District Nodal Officer SVEEP, Bishamber Dass (CEO Rajouri), today.

The SVEEP team of Assembly Constituency 85-Rajouri, along with the District SVEEP team, organized a Mega Awareness Programme in the vicinity of village Dalhori and GHSS Dalhori. 

The programme featured a variety of activities such as a plantation drive, door to door campaign, pledge ceremony, a signature campaign, sports events, and a Mega Rally across the village. Around 350 students, staff members, and locals participated in the program, all committed to supporting voter mobilization, motivation, and sensitization efforts.

District SVEEP Team Member and Lecturer Mohammad Ayaz Raina and SVEEP Nodal Officer AC-85 Rakesh Kumar Sharma, Principal GHSS Dalhori Raj Kumar delivered motivational lectures to inspire the local community for participating in the electoral process.

Meanwhile, in Assembly Constituency 83 Kalakote-Sunderbani, the SVEEP team, under the supervision of Nodal Officer Babu Singh, organized a Voter Awareness Programme at the Anganwadi Centre in Pind Tallian (Pyt. Channi-B). The event, which was attended by local residents and Anganwadi staff including Salma Yasmeen (AWW) and Shashi Bala (AWH), featured a motivational speech by Muddasir Mughal. 

The staff and students of GHSS Qila Darhal in Nowshera organized a rally under the guidance of Nodal Officer AC-84 J.P. Singh to raise awareness about voting. Similarly, GMHSS Lamberi held an inter-class football match under the banner of SVEEP, where students actively participated to spread electoral awareness among the community.

Nodal Officer Assembly Constituency 86 Budhal, Prof. Tahir Nadeem and the SVEEP team inspected polling stations Jamola-A and Jamola-D, where voter turnout in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 was below 60%. The team engaged with members of Booth Level Awareness Groups (BAGs) and local residents to understand the reasons for low voter turnout. The BAG members were instructed to intensify voter awareness efforts ahead of the J&K Legislative Assembly elections. A pledge-taking ceremony was also held at GHS Larkutti. The students and staff vowed to participate in upcoming elections without intimidation or inducement.

In Draj area, BLOs Mohd Azam (Part No. 64-Draj-B) and Abdul Hamid (Part No. 66-Draj-C), along with students from GMS Naka Gabber and GMS Palwar, demonstrated a creative thermocol dummy EVM to promote voter education through hands-on experience.

A general Voter awareness program was organized at Government Middle School Budhkhanari falling in Assembly Constituency 87 Thannamandi. The event included a pledge ceremony and a quiz competition, involving around 80 students and staff members.

Sustained SVEEP campaign steers up electoral awareness in AC Kathua

KATHUA: The electoral landscape of AC 67-Kathua (SC) is vibrant with a series of dynamic events organized under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program to encourage active voter participation in the Assembly Elections.

A highly impactful event held At GHS Parliwand saw a huge turnout of students, staff, local citizens and Government functionaries, including Chief Education Officer Mangat Ram Sharma, Principal GHSS Boys, Tara Chand Sharma, and Sector Magistrate Anil Sharma.

Students, guided by Kamlesh Kumari, performed a Nukkad Natak emphasizing the importance of voter participation, followed by cultural programs and a hands-on demonstration of the voting process using a handmade EVM. The event concluded with a voter pledge and rally, reinforcing the commitment to ensuring maximum turnout.

A voter awareness event at Lakhanpur, led by students of Government High School Lakhanpur and guided by Teacher Vivek Sharma, featured a Nukkad Natak and speeches, drawing over 200 locals. Prominent figures encouraged the public to exercise their democratic right, with the event culminating with a group song and a pledge to vote.

Poonch: SVEEP cultural show organised near LOC to spread voter awareness

POONCH: The District Election Authority Poonch organized a mega Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program, here today at GHSS Jhullas near the Line of Control (LoC). The programme began with the singing of the National Anthem.

General Election Observer, Solai Bharathi Dasan was the chief guest at the event featuring a scintillating Cultural Show. District Election Officer (DEO) Vikas Kundal presided over the function. The General Election Observer, Solai Bharathi Dasan administered the voting pledge to the gathering, emphasizing the importance of electoral participation.

The event showcased a vibrant cultural programme presented by students, including a Nukkad Natak, Folk dance, Group songs, and speeches by first time voters on power of Vote in a democracy. Expenditure Observer conducts 1st scrutiny of candidates' accounts in Poonch District

POONCH: Election Expenditure Observer for Poonch, Bharat Ramchandra Andhale today conducted the first inspection of accounts and day to day expenditure details of candidates contesting the upcoming Assembly Elections in the district.

The inspection covered all three Assembly Constituencies – Haveli, Surankote and Mendhar. The Observer thoroughly examined the accounts in the presence of Assistant Expenditure Observers from each constituency. The inspection aimed to ensure transparency and compliance with election expenditure norms. As per the Election Commission of India guidelines, the Observer has to conduct three inspections of expenditure during the election period.

Candidates who failed to attend the first meeting or did not get their expenditure statements checked were issued notices, directing them to comply within the stipulated time. The meeting was also attended by Liaison Officer Shafeeq Malik and Assistant Expenditure Observers from all three assembly constituencies of Poonch district.

Green SVEEP event promotes voter awareness initiative in Bani

KATHUA: As part of the ongoing Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign, a series of plantation drives were organized under the theme Green SVEEP at various polling stations in the Bani and Lohai Malhar areas of Bani (63) constituency.

The initiative, held under the guidance of Returning Officer (RO) Gaisul Haq, aimed to promote voter awareness while also emphasizing environmental conservation. Forest officials from the territorial forest ranges of Basholi and Billawar divisions actively participated in the plantation efforts at polling stations including Lowang, Fatehpur, Charoga, Bhandar, Kachir, Nathi, Khurrwah, Gatti, and Bani.

The plantation drives were carried out in collaboration with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) of the respective polling stations, further highlighting the importance of community involvement in both electoral and environmental stewardship.

AC SVEEP Nodal Officer, Prof. Naseeb Kr Bhagat, along with Range Officer Vineet Gupta, led the plantation of Chir and Deodar saplings at Government Girls High School Bani, with the participation of students and staff.

During the event, Prof. Bhagat delivered a lecture on the significance of voting and the role of the SVEEP program in encouraging maximum voter participation in the upcoming assembly elections in J&K. He also emphasized the responsibility of citizens in maintaining ecological balance alongside their civic duties.

GHSS Dharmahanpur hosts SVEEP program to boost voter participation

KATHUA: A voter awareness program aimed at fostering electoral education and promoting participation in the upcoming assembly elections was organized today here at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Dharmahanpur.

The event took place under the esteemed supervision of Returning Officer (RO) 65-Basohli, Anil Kumar Thakur, and was part of the flagship Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program of the Election Commission of India (ECI).

Themed “Greater Participation for a Stronger Democracy,” the event featured a variety of activities, including Nukkad Nataks, cultural performances, poster-making, and a voter awareness rally. These activities were designed to engage the community, particularly first-time voters, and encourage them to turn out in record numbers for the upcoming election scheduled for 1st October 2024.

Over 150 attendees, including students, faculty members, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) from nearby polling stations attended the program.

Principal of GHSS Dharmahanpur, Kartar Chand and Sector Officer Vikas Malpotra interacted with the students and community members, emphasizing the importance of voting as both a constitutional right and a civic duty.

GHS Bhed Blore promotes Electoral awareness through painting competition

KATHUA: As part of the ongoing voter awareness initiatives under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program, a special painting competition was organized today at Government High School Bhed Blore to promote electoral awareness. The event was held in the presence of the Principal of Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHSS) Kathua and AC SVEEP Nodal Officer.

The theme of the painting competition revolved around the significance of electoral participation and fostering a stronger democratic process.

Students showcased their artistic skills, using vibrant colors and powerful messages to depict the importance of casting a vote, especially in the upcoming assembly elections scheduled for 1st October 2024. Their artwork conveyed themes of democracy, responsible voting, and the power of each individual's vote in shaping the future of the nation.

During the event, the Principal of GGHSS Kathua and Nodal Officer for SVEEP addressed the students and community members, highlighting the role of creative platforms like painting in spreading awareness about electoral participation. They emphasized the need for every eligible voter, especially first-time voters, to exercise their democratic right and make informed choices during the upcoming elections.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks to all participants, teachers, and officials for their active involvement in the program, which served as a unique way to strengthen the connection between the electoral process and the community. General Observer, DEO supervise election staff training at GDC Nowshera

RAJOURI: To ensure smooth and transparent conduct of the General Elections to the Legislative Assembly 2024, Election Observer for Nowshera & Kalakote-Sunderbani Assembly Constituency, Mani Ram Sharma, along with District Election Officer (DEO) Abhishek Sharma, today supervised the training of the election staff held at Government Degree College (GDC) Nowshera.

The training session aimed to equip the polling staff with essential knowledge and skills to efficiently manage the polling process on Election Day. During the session, both the Observer and the DEO interacted with the participants, emphasizing the importance of adhering to the guidelines of the Election Commission of India to ensure free and fair elections.

Speaking on the occasion, DEO Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, urged the staff to perform their duties with dedication and responsibility, ensuring that all electoral procedures are followed meticulously. He stressed the importance of impartiality and transparency in managing the electoral process, stating that the role of election staff is crucial in upholding the democratic process.

Election Observer Mani Ram Sharma, while addressing the participants, highlighted the need for a robust and foolproof arrangement for the smooth conduct of elections.

In addition to supervising the training, DEO & SSP conducted an inspection of the accommodation facilities arranged for the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) companies stationed in the area. The accommodation facilities, set up to house the CAPF personnel deployed for election security, were found to be adequate, and the Observer expressed satisfaction with the arrangements made by the administration.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Nowshera, Babu Ram Tandan, was also present on the occasion and provided a briefing on the steps taken to ensure the welfare and logistical needs of the CAPF personnel during their stay in the district.

Expenditure Observer for Rajouri District conducts first inspection of spending by contesting candidates

RAJOURI: Expenditure Observer for Rajouri, Sanjay Kumar for Rajouri has conducted the first inspection of the expenditure of contesting candidates for 83-Sunderbani Kalakote, 84-Noweshra, 85-Rajouri, 86-Budhal and 87-Thanamandi Assembly Constituencies over past two days.

The inspection aimed to scrutinize the financial records and expenditure details of the candidates contesting the ongoing Assembly Elections 2024.

Sanjay Kumar reviewed the financial documentation provided by the candidates to verify their adherence to the expenditure limits set by the Election Commission. The scrutiny also focused on ensuring the accuracy and transparency of the records submitted by the candidates.

Sanjay Kumar was assisted by Assistant Expenditure Observers (AEOs), along with expenditure monitoring and accounting teams from Rajouri Constituency. The teams provided support in verifying the records and ensuring the smooth conduct of the inspection process.

General Observers, Police Observer for Bandipora review Poll Preparedness

BANDIPORA: In a significant move to ensure smooth conduct of elections in Bandipora, the General Observers for 15-Bandipora and 14-Sonawari Assembly Constituencies, Nelson Eyon Bage, and for 16-Gurez, Ramniwas Yadav, along with the Police Observer Adarsh Sidhu jointly chaired a meeting today at the Mini Secretariat Bandipora to review the poll preparedness across the district's three Assembly constituencies.

During the meeting, the District Election Officer (DEO) Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri provided a detailed overview of the ongoing electoral preparations. He informed the observers that District Bandipora consists of three Assembly constituencies with a total of 312 polling stations. The DEO informed that the first round of randomization for poll staff and EVMs has been successfully completed, assigning 1,789 officials for election duties.

Qadri stated that the district has ensured assured minimum facilities at all 220 polling locations. Additionally, 12 model polling stations have been established in the district, with three stations each designated as Pink, Blue, Red, and Green to enhance the voting experience. Besides Postal and home voting arrangements have been fully prepared, and election staff have received comprehensive training to ensure efficiency during the polls

Giving details regarding Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme, DEO informed that  117 awareness programmes  have been conducted under SVEEP, besides 312 booth-level camps and 22 interactive sessions aimed at engaging marginalized groups.

SSP Bandipora, Lakshay Sharma also briefed the observers regarding the security scenario of the district and measures taken up to ensure smooth and peaceful elections in the District.

The General Observers expressed satisfaction with the arrangements made so far and stressed the importance of ensuring a seamless electoral process. They highlighted the need for close coordination between all stakeholders and emphasised the need to maintain strict adherence to ECI guidelines.

They called for enhanced focus on resolution of election related issues and also highlighted the importance of monitoring and reporting mechanisms to ensure transparency and fairness in elections.

While reviewing the working of MCMC, Nodal Officer MCMC/DIO Aadil Manzoor Wani apprised the chair that MCMC is working round the clock to ensure close monitoring of Print, Electronic and social media in order to prevent the dissemination of misleading or inappropriate information and to ensure monitoring of paid news besides ensuring media coverage of election related activities within the guidelines of ECI.

Among others, the meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Lakshay Sharma, ADDC/ Nodal Officer Law and Order  Mohammad Ashraf Bhatt, ADC / Nodal Officer MCC  Zaffar Husson Shawal, DyDEO, Returning Officers, Election Nodal Officers, and other concerned.

BANDIPORA: The District Administration Bandipora on Saturday organized a mega rally under the Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative to promote voter awareness.

The rally, which started at NM Higher Secondary School Kaloosa and concluded at Nishat Park, was flagged-off by General Observer Nelson Eyon Bage, General Observer Ramniwas Yadav, and District Election Officer, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri. RO 15- Bandipora Shabir Ahmad Wani, Election Nodal Officers, DIO and other concerned officers were also present on the occasion.

The event featured enthusiastic participation from students, government officials, and volunteers, culminating in a Nukad Natak and balloon-releasing ceremony to encourage electoral participation.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from Booth Level Officers (BLOs), Anganwadi workers, Asha workers, AAYAs, students from various schools and colleges, NSS and NCC volunteers, officers and officials from various government departments and youth volunteers  carrying placards with voter awareness messages aimed at increasing voter participation.

Speaking on the occasion, DEO said that the rally was aimed to raise voter awareness and urged all eligible voters to use their right to franchise and participate in the festival of democracy.

Following the rally, a vibrant Nukad Natak (street play) and a balloon releasing ceremony was hosted at Nishat Park Bandipora where the officers released gas filled Balloons in air to raise awareness.

Balloon releasing ceremony was led by RO 15- Bandipora Shabir Ahmad wani, along with Padmashree Faisal Ali Dar- Brand Ambassador SVEEP activities and Chief Education Officer/ Nodal Officer SVEEP Kishore Kumar.

Artists of Al-Kareen theatre Institution staged a Nukad Natak highlighting the importance and power of vote that attracted a huge audience and added colour to the event.

The Nukad Natak conveyed the message that every vote matters and encouraged the audience to exercise their franchise. Artists also called on the youth to actively promote electoral participation within their families, relatives, friends and general public.

General Observers, Police Observer oversee Second Randomization of Poll Staff in Bandipora

BANDIPORA: The Second Randomization of poll staff was today conducted at mini secretariat Bandipora to create poll parties for three assembly constituencies of Bandipora District

The District Election Officer (DEO) conducted the second randomization of poll staff  in presence of General observer for 15- Bandipora and 14-  Sonawari AC, Nelson Eyon Bage; General Observer for 16-Gurez AC, Ramniwas Yadav and Police Observer Adarsh Sidhu underscoring the commitment to maintain high standards of fairness and integrity in the electoral process.

The randomization was conducted using dedicated software for the purpose to ensure that the composition of poll parties is both random and unbiased, further enhancing the credibility of the elections and upholding the democratic values and ensuring a free and fair election.

SSP Lakshay Sharma, ADDC/Nodal Officer Law & Order, ADC/Nodal officer MCC, DyDEO, DIO/Nodal Officer MCMC, District Informatics Officer and other concerned were also present on the occasion.

SVEEP: Mega Plantation Drive Held at Girls High School Kaloosa, Bandipora

BANDIPORA: In a significant green initiative, the SVEEP cell Bandipora, in collaboration with the Social Forestry Department Bandipora, today organized a mega plantation drive at Girls High School Kaloosa.

The plantation drive was aimed to create general awareness among the voters for larger participation besides generating awareness among future voters and promote environmental sustainability.

General observer for 14- Sonawari and 15 - Bandipora Nelson Eyon Bage, General Observer for 16- Gurez Ramniwas Yadav, Police Observer Adarsh Sidhu and DEO Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, participated in the plantation drive by planting saplings in the school premises.

Speaking on the occasion, DEO Manzoor Ahmad Qadri commended the efforts of the SVEEP cell Bandipora for their commitment to raise voter awareness through extensive programmes.

He emphasised the dual objective of the initiative, to foster greater voter participation and to enhance environmental awareness among the public. It was informed that as part of the drive, 100 saplings will be planted at each Green polling station and 10 saplings at all other polling stations.

DEO said that this initiative is designed to engage voters actively and contribute to the green cover of the area besides generating awareness about the importance of voting.

SHOPIAN: In order to acquaint Zonal and Sector Magistrates on their role and responsibilities in the upcoming Assembly elections as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India, the District Election Officer (DEO) Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar today chaired a meeting at Mini Secretariat, Shopian.

All officers were sensitised on compliance to various norms related to mock poll and its clearance, EVM Handling and replacement, placement of reserve polling staff in case of slow polling, periodic poll day reporting, security related coordination with police counterparts, coordination with POs and other related issues.

They were asked to ensure complete coordination with POs, ROs and with all stakeholders in order to see the better execution of elections in their allotted sectors/ zones. The officers were also directed to ensure reporting of voter turnout on polling day well within the given timelines.

DEO instructed ROs to provide a check list to all Magistrates and also stressed on the officers to take their responsibility with utmost care and seriousness and stay proactive on the ground to ensure free, fair and smooth election processes in the district.

ADC and RO Shopian also briefed them about their crucial duties on pre- poll, poll and post poll days. 11 sector Magistrates have been deployed for Shopian AC while 14 have been deployed in Zainapora AC in order to facilitate the smooth conduct of elections in the district.

Divisional Level Inter-District Volleyball Tournament under SVEEP held at Nagri Kupwara

KUPWARA: The Inter-District Divisional level Volleyball Tournament, organized under Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative, culminated in an electrifying final match at BHSS Nagri Malpora today.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, with more than 2,000 spectators cheering on the players. The tournament was graced by the presence of the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kupwara, M Rouf Rehman, along with other district officers, including Nodal Officer SVEEP (Chief Education Officer) Kupwara, Abdul Majeed Dar, and District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO), among others.

The event aimed at promoting both sports and the importance of electoral participation, with a special focus on youth engagement in both areas.

Addressing the gathering, the ADC said that as much as we need our young people to excel in sports, we equally need them to be responsible citizens. Participating in the voting process is a fundamental duty. It is essential that everyone, especially the youth, actively engages in shaping the future of the nation. He urged the participants to vote in the upcoming election.

The volleyball tournament's final match was a nail-biting affair, with teams from various districts vying for the coveted championship. After a fierce contest, the team from District Kupwara emerged victorious, defeating their opponents, The Anantnag Volleyball team, by a scoreline of 3:2. The match was a testament to the skill, determination, and sportsmanship displayed by the players.

Nodal Officer SVEEP emphasized the importance of the SVEEP initiative in encouraging electoral participation and appealed to the participants to actively participate in the upcoming election.

SVEEP Awareness programme held at Batapora, Vehil and other places in Shopian

SHOPIAN: SVEEP awareness programmes were today organised at Batapora Bus Stand, Main Chowk, Vehil and other places of Shopian district to motivate the electorate for their participation in polling, scheduled on September 18. Huge gatherings were present on the occasion and people from all walks of life participated in the events.

The Nodal officer SVEEP, Shabir Ahmed and District Cultural Coordinator, Khurshid Ahmed while speaking on the occasion apprised the participants about the electoral process and threw light on the importance of exercising the franchise. On this occasion, Nukkad Natak was also presented by the artists, in the direction of efforts to enhance voter awareness and literacy in the district.

SVEEP Team Kulgam continues Voter Awareness Activities

KULGAM: In an ongoing effort to promote voter awareness and participation, the Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) team of Kulgam continued its dedicated activities across the district. As part of this initiative, local artists creatively conveyed the importance of voting, targeting all sections of the community.

The SVEEP team organized a series of events, featuring performances by local artists who used their talents in music, drama, and visual arts to spread awareness on the value of every vote. These cultural events are aimed at engaging people in a more relatable and impactful way, especially focusing on youth and first-time voters.

Voter Awareness programmes and Voter Slips Distribution continue across Anantnag

ANANTNAG: A series of activities under the Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme were conducted today across Anantnag district.

Among others, programmes were held at Government Degree College Qazigund, Girls Higher Secondary School Kadipora, Girls Middle School Hardushichen Dialgam and Government Higher Secondary School Arwani.

These initiatives were aimed at enhancing voter awareness and fostering greater electoral participation. The programmes included awareness sessions, informative talks, workshops, cultural events, plantation drives etc.

In addition, across the district, thousands of voter slips have been distributed to the voters through Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and the same continued today in the door to door mode. The benefit of such activities is to increase voter awareness and participation in the upcoming elections on 18th of September.

SVEEP: Plantation drive to enhance Electoral Participation held at Middle School Mugalpora Kupwara

KUPWARA: In line with our commitment to promoting Electoral Awareness, a Plantation Drive under SVEEP was today carried out by District Nodal Officer SVEEP in Green Polling station, Middle School Mugalpora.

This green initiative attracts different segments of voters for strong Democracy. This event is not just about planting trees, it also symbolizes our commitment to nurture both our environment and our democratic values.

District Nodal Officer SVEEP (Chief Education Officer) Kupwara, Ab. Majeed Dar started a plantation of 100 saplings at Middle School Mughalpora (Green Polling station). About 10000 saplings have been planted so far to contribute to a healthier planet besides representing our collective responsibility towards voter Awareness and participation.

The SVEEP initiative is dedicated to fostering civic engagement and ensuring that every eligible voter is aware of his rights and responsibilities. By combining Environmental efforts with voter Education, the aim is to create a more informed and engaged community.

DEO Pulwama conducts joint briefing of Zonal, Sectoral Magistrates and Police Officers

PULWAMA: The District Election Officer (DEO) Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom today held a joint briefing for Zonal Magistrates, Zonal Police Officers, Sector Magistrates and Sector Police Officers to ensure seamless coordination and preparedness for the smooth conduct of free and fair elections in the district.

Dr. Basharat emphasized the crucial role played by these officers as the vital link between polling parties and the Returning Officer (RO) and DEO. He outlined their responsibilities, which include overseeing the movement of polling parties from dispatch centres to polling stations on P-1, ensuring the safe arrival of polling teams, reporting on poll day activities, monitoring mock polls and managing the deployment of reserve EVMs if needed.

Detailed instructions were given regarding their specific roles and responsibilities. Key points covered included poll day protocols, such as Mock Poll as per guidelines, start of poll and the strict observance of the Election Commission of India (ECI) guidelines. Officers were reminded to monitor the polling process closely, especially the implementation of multiple checks and balances, such as EVM and VVPAT testing and the reporting of any issues immediately.

Sector Magistrates were tasked with ensuring that no polling parties are delayed and that all materials are deposited and accounted for correctly.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Pulwama, PD Nitya also addressed the briefing, detailing the deployment of police personnel across zones and sectors. She highlighted the collaboration between civil and police officers to maintain law and order during the elections and underscored the importance of adhering to security protocols to safeguard the electoral process.

Returning Officers from Pulwama and Rajpora, along with Nodal Officers participated in the session, reinforcing the commitment to ensuring a transparent and well-coordinated election process.

SVEEP: Grand Awareness program for Young Female Voters held at GDC for Women Pulwama

PULWAMA: A grand SVEEP awareness program aimed at encouraging young female voters to participate in the democratic process was held today at the Government Degree College for Women, Pulwama.

The event, organized in collaboration with the Nodal Officers of the Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP), saw enthusiastic participation from the college administration, Booth Level Officers (BLOs), Booth Awareness Groups (BAGs), staff and students.

The highlight of the event was a special address by Tehzeeba, a visually impaired Student Icon from the Islamic University, currently pursuing a B.A. (Honours). Alongside speeches from college representatives and SVEEP Nodal Officers, Tehzeeba delivered an inspiring message about the power of voting and the importance of civic responsibility.

All the speakers emphasized democratic values, underscoring the duties and responsibilities of every citizen to participate in the upcoming Assembly elections. They called for a record voter turnout, particularly encouraging young women to exercise their right to vote.

SVEEP: Kabaddi Match spreads voting awareness at MA Stadium

JAMMU: In a bid to boost voter awareness and participation, a Kabaddi competition was held at the MA Stadium Jammu under the Systematic Voter's Awareness and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program. This innovative event, designed to blend sports with electoral education, was organised through a collaborative effort by the District Administration Jammu, J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association and the J&K Sports Council.

Deputy Commissioner Jammu, and District Election Officer, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, served as the chief guest for the occasion. Addressing the gathering, he urged both athletes and eligible voters to actively exercise their franchise and engage in the electoral process, highlighting the importance of each vote.

The event was spearheaded by Ranjeet Kalra, the UT Level Election Icon and witnessed the presence of numerous dignitaries including Additional District Development Commissioner, Thakur Sher Singh; ADC Jammu, Shishir Gupta; Chief Planning Officer, Uttam Singh; Tehsildar Jammu (Khas), Paramdeep Singh; and Divisional Sports Officer, Bajinder Singh. Assembly Election 2024: Advance poll parties dispatched to remote Marwah, Warwan areas

KISHTWAR: An advance batch of 33 polling parties comprising election officials, police personnel and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), was flagged off by District Election Officer, Rajesh Kumar Shavan this morning to Marwah and Dachan areas, here from District Election Office Kishtwar.

 In all, 21 polling parties leave for  Marwah and 12 for Warwan areas of 48-Inderwal, Assembly Constituency of the district . The district Kishtwar is scheduled to go to the polls on 18th September-the first phase of the Assembly Elections.

Situated at an altitude of 12,500 feet above Mean sea level with challenging terrain and unpredictable weather conditions, the advance dispatch of polling parties is crucial for Marwah and Dachan having sole road access via Sinthan and Margantop.  

The contingents of polling teams along with EVMs left amid adequate security  in presence of General Observer 49-Kishtwar & 50-Paddar Nagseni  Ramamoorthy Selvam and General Observer Dr A Arun Thamburaj, Returning Officer (RO) 48-Inderwal, Idrees Lone and other concerned Election Nodal Officers.

DEO Kishtwar informed that under the supervision of Chief Electoral Officer Jammu and Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole elaborate arrangements have been made for the safe transportation of polling teams, election material including EVMs and VVPATs and allied equipment to the 429 polling stations.

“Adequate security measures, including deployment of CAPF and Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) personnel, have been put in place at polling stations and en route to polling stations for the security of the polling staff, EVMs and strong rooms” he added.

He further added that rest of the polling parties will be dispatched on 16th & 17th September across the district ahead of the poll day as per the protocol and guidelines of ECI.

DEO Ramban reviews polling party transportation, monitoring, coordination plans

RAMBAN: District Election Officer (DEO) Ramban, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, chaired a meeting here today to review the preparations for the dispatch of Polling Parties and ensure smooth coordination among team members for the upcoming Assembly Elections, 2024.

During the meeting, the DEO discussed the transport and monitoring plans, along with other necessary arrangements being implemented by various departments to facilitate a free, fair, and transparent election process. He instructed the ARTO and other concerned officers to ensure the proper execution of these plans across all departments, emphasizing the smooth conduct of the Assembly Elections in AC-54 Ramban and AC-55 Banihal, scheduled for September 18, 2024.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Roshan Lal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Varunjeet Singh Charak, Deputy District Election Officer Abdul Jabar, District Statistical and Evaluation Officer Ganesh Kumar, ARTO Shital Sharma, District Information Officer Niamatullah Sheikh, Assistant Labour Commissioner Amit Kumar and other relevant officers.

General Observer oversees training session for poll staff for home voting

REASI: Avi Prasad, the General Observer for AC-57 Reasi and AC-58 SMVD, participated in the training session organized here today for polling staff assigned to home voting duties. The training was held in the Government Higher Secondary School, Katra, under the supervision of Piyush Dhotra, Returning Officer for SMVD and SDM Katra.

The session was part of a comprehensive effort to ensure that staff were well-prepared to facilitate home voting, ensuring smooth and efficient operations on Election Day.

In addition to attending the training, Mr. Prasad conducted a field visit to Polling Stations 71 (Naleh Sarli) and 72 (Chamba Chandwa) in AC-57 SMVD. The inspection focused on verifying the accuracy of the voter list and assessing the progress in distributing voter slips to ensure all eligible voters receive their slips in a timely manner. This proactive oversight aims to guarantee that election preparations are on track and that every eligible voter has the opportunity to cast their vote efficiently.

SVEEP: Nari Shakti Choupal held at Village Organisation Centre Panthal

REASI: “Nari Shakti Choupal” was held today at Village Organisation Centre, Panthal as part of the "Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation" (SVEEP) initiative. The aim was to reach out to the voters to maximize voter turnout in the upcoming Assembly Elections 2024.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from local masses including women of Self Help Groups, Anganwadi workers and ASHA workers. The SVEEP team, led by Nodal Officer Sachin Sharma, provided comprehensive insights into the electoral process, encouraging all people to participate in the democratic process and cast their votes on 25 September 2024.

The SVEEP Team informed them about the measures taken by District Administration to make voting accessible for women, availability of home voting for senior citizens aged 85 yrs and above, ensuring inclusivity in the voting process.

Additionally, detailed information was also provided regarding the Saksham-ECI app, which features a range of accessibility options to assist in voter registration, locating polling stations, and casting votes.

The program culminated with a pledge to actively promote voter participation within their communities, aiming for a higher voter turnout in the upcoming elections. Local Women, First time girl voters, AWW's and Officials of the Social Welfare Department were present.

General Observers reviews Election preparedness in Udhampur

UDHAMPUR: In preparation for the General Assembly Elections 2024, General Observers B C Sateesha, S A Raman, Expenditure Observer V Vivekananda and Police Observer Ravi Ranjan Kumar today jointly held a meeting with all Nodal Officers and Returning Officers in Udhampur.

The meeting convened in the Conference Hall of DC Office Complex was aimed at assessing and enhancing election preparedness in the district.

Earlier, District Election Officer Saloni Rai provided a comprehensive overview of the district's election arrangements, including the availability of EVMs and VVPATs, transport management, functioning of dispatch centers, home voting options, postal ballots and the deployment of teams. They also reviewed the status of polling staff training, enforcement of Model Code of Conduct, the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee, vigilance on expenditure by political parties and candidates and measures to manage paid news.

The General Observers were briefed on the provision of basic minimum facilities at polling stations, the functioning of the expenditure monitoring cell and the training of polling personnel. Additional discussions covered the appointment and training of  polling staff, randomization of polling personnel and Electronic Voting Machines and other essential aspects of election management.

Special emphasis was placed on the effective implementation of Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation  activities across the district. Returning Officers and Nodal Officers were urged to strictly follow the latest guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India to ensure smooth electoral processes.

The General Observers directed election teams to enhance their readiness for the smooth conduct of the elections, stressing the importance of coordination. They recommended thorough theoretical and practical training for polling staff and advised Nodal  Officers to focus on sensitizing vulnerable areas to encourage voter participation.

The Observers also reviewed security arrangements at strong rooms, EVM collection and dispatch centers, and the accommodation provided for polling personnel. They expressed appreciation for the efforts of the District Election Officer and her team in ensuring poll preparedness and the successful implementation of SVEEP programs. Later, the Observers also visited the Media centre and District Control room.

AC 50-Paddar Nagseni: SVEEP Electoral Awareness Program, Green Election Initiative launched at Kwar, Hydroelectric Power Project

KISHTWAR:  In a significant move to promote voter education and environmental sustainability, a mega awareness event was organized under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program at the Kwar Hydroelectric Power Project, here today.

The event, held under the leadership of Nodal Officer SVEEP, Riaz ul Haq, brought together employees, workers, and officers of the power project alongside the SVEEP team to reinforce the importance of active voter participation in the upcoming Jammu & Kashmir Assembly Election 2024.

The highlight of the event was the SVEEP Pledge, taken by all participants, reaffirming their commitment to the democratic process and encouraging others to exercise their right to vote.

Sandhya Chaupal, Plantation Drive boost electoral awareness in Hiranagar AC

KATHUA: In an effort to combine environment conservation with electoral awareness, all polling stations across Assembly Constituency Hiranagar today conducted a plantation drive as part of the ‘Green Election’ initiative of the Election Commission of India (ECI). Booth Awareness Groups (BAGs) at 110 polling stations planted 10 saplings each, including fruit and non-fruit trees, to promote the theme of sustainable development during the J&K Assembly Elections 2024.

The Returning Officer, 68-Hiranagar, Rakesh Kumar ( SDM) led by example, planting 20 saplings at the Hiranagar Stadium. During the event, the RO emphasized the participatory nature of democracy, highlighting the importance of informed voters and the role of community engagement in strengthening the electoral process.

Additionally, GLDM GDC Hiranagar initiated its own plantation drive under the same initiative. As many as 25 plants were planted on the campus by students, faculty members, non-teaching staff, and the Principal, along with other officials, reinforcing the connection between environmental consciousness and civic responsibility.

Later, in the day, Sandhya Chaupals were organized in ward numbers 4, 8, and 9 of Municipal Committee Hiranagar as part of the SVEEP campaign. These gatherings aimed to engage the labor force, working men, and business people in voter education efforts. Anganwadi workers and Supervisors enacted a street play, delivering the critical message that every vote matters and encouraging participants to exercise their right to vote as both a responsibility and a privilege.

In a unique initiative, Government High School Chadwal invited parents to the school to take a voter pledge, symbolizing their commitment to participating in the electoral process.

Players pledge to promote voter awareness

RAJOURI: In an effort to boost voter awareness as part of the Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign, a pledge was taken by all participants before the start of a sporting event held today in Rajouri.  Players, officials and spectators joined in to commit themselves to spreading the message of voter participation in the upcoming elections.

Before the game commenced, players were encouraged to become ambassadors of voter awareness in their respective communities, urging the public to exercise their right to vote. The initiative was aimed at promoting informed and ethical voting and ensuring greater participation in the electoral process.

Participants expressed enthusiasm to support SVEEP activities and contribute to a stronger democratic system by raising awareness on the importance of voting.

General, Expenditure Observers hold election review meeting at Bani

KATHUA: General Observer A.M. Khanam in presence of Expenditure Observer Tanay Sharma today chaired a meeting for the 63-Bani and 64-Billawar Assembly Constituencies at Returning Officer (RO) office, Bani. The primary focus of the meeting was to interact with the polling staff, election candidates, and their representatives, in preparation for the upcoming General Election for Legislative Assembly (GELA) 2024.

During the meeting, General Observer A.M. Khanam and Expenditure Observer Tanay Sharma emphasized the importance of strict adherence to the Model Code of Conduct (MCC), stating that it is essential to ensure free and fair elections. They urged the polling staff and election officials to carry out their duties with precision and impartiality, in line with the guidelines set by the Election Commission of India (ECI).

The Observers also stressed that the RO must ensure level play field and provide an equal platform to all candidates, without any favoritism. They highlighted the active role of Flying Squads Teams (FSTs) and Static Surveillance Teams (SSTs) which are operating 24/7 to enforce the ECI’s guidelines and maintain the integrity of the election process.

In addition to the meeting, the Observers visited the training center at Hr. Sec School Bani, where polling staff are being trained to handle various aspects of the election. The visit reinforced the need for thorough preparation and adherence to the ECI’s protocols to guarantee a smooth and transparent election process in the Bani constituency. â€Ž

General Observer for Tral conducts Awareness Tour, engages with Local Residents

PULWAMA: The General Observer for Tral, Brajesh Narain Singh undertook a comprehensive tour of the said constituency today, conducting multiple meetings with the local population. The primary focus of these interactions was to raise awareness about the importance of exercising their democratic right to vote in the upcoming 2024 Legislative Assembly elections.

During the meetings, Singh encouraged active voter participation and underscored the significance of free, fair and transparent elections. He urged residents to make informed decisions and emphasized the need for an inclusive electoral process, ensuring that every eligible voter has the opportunity to cast their vote.

  • VFC for Staff on election duty & PVC for essential services established at Shopian for Zainapora & Shopian ACs
  • More than 1000 voters to exercise voting rights from 14 to 16, September; 194 votes cast on Day 01 at VFCs & 116 at PVCs in both ACs

SHOPIAN: In pursuance to the Election Commission of India (ECI) guidelines, the District Election Officer, Shopian has made provisions for staff detailed for election duties and essential services staff to cast their vote at Voter Facilitation Centres (VFCs) and Postal Voting Centres (PVCs) respectively, established for both AC- Shopian and Zainapora.

The voting has started today at Voter Facilitation Centres of Zainapora AC and Shopian AC at GDC Shopian and at Postal Voting Centres, established at Mini Secretariat, Shopian, enabling staff on election duty and essential services staff to cast their votes.

Two facilitation centres have been established at GDC Shopian viz; Sir Mohammad Iqbal Hall for staff ( voters) on election duties of Zainapora AC and in Sir Syed Hall for staff (Voters) on election duties of Shopian AC.

The voting at Facilitation Centre is scheduled during training hours at GDC Shopian and at Postal Voting Centres at Mini Secretariat from 9 AM to 5 P.M during 14-16 September.

The voters on election duty include staff like polling parties, drivers, conductors of transport, Micro- Observers, media and other voters. More than 600 staff on election duty have applied for voting at Facilitation Centres, out of which 194 voters have voted today.

Likewise, three Postal Voting Centres have also been established, one for 36- Zainapora, one for 37- Shopian and one for other districts at Mini Secretariat, Shopian for voters of district who belong to essential services like, Police, Health, Jal Shakti, Media, Transport, Fire and Emergency, Municipal Council.  More than 500 essential services staff have applied for the postal voting at PVCs, out of which 116 have voted today.

SVEEP Awareness programme held at Hill Top Shojan Village, Tral-AC

PULWAMA: A Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) awareness programme was successfully conducted today at Hill Top Shojan Village in the 33-Tral Assembly Constituency, Pulwama. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the importance of voter participation in the upcoming 2024 Assembly elections.

The programme saw active involvement from local residents, community leaders and electoral officers, all working together to educate and encourage eligible voters to participate in the democratic process. 

Speakers emphasized the critical role of each vote and the responsibility of citizens to ensure a high voter turnout. This outreach effort is part of the broader SVEEP initiative, aimed at promoting informed and inclusive voting across the district.

SVEEP programme conducted at Rajpora, Pulwama

PULWAMA: A Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme was organized today at MS Gusoo in the 35-Rajpora Assembly Constituency. The event focused on raising awareness about the importance of voting in the upcoming 2024 Assembly elections.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from the local community, with electoral officers and SVEEP nodal teams highlighting the significance of active voter engagement.  Attendees were encouraged to exercise their democratic right and ensure maximum voter turnout for a free, fair and transparent electoral process.

PULWAMA: In a bid to boost voter awareness and participation, SVEEP programmes were organized today at Higher Secondary School Pahoo and Patalbagh in Pulwama. 

The events featured a variety of activities including engagement with Self Help Groups (SHGs), a plantation drive, and a lively Nukad Natak performance, all aimed at encouraging citizens to exercise their voting rights in the upcoming Assembly elections.

The SHGs played a key role in promoting the importance of voter participation, while the plantation drive symbolized the growth and strengthening of democracy. 

The Nukad Natak creatively conveyed the message of the power and responsibility of voting, capturing the attention of the local community. These efforts are part of the ongoing SVEEP initiative, striving to ensure a high voter turnout in a free, fair and transparent electoral process.
