UDHAMPUR: The NCORD Committee of Government Degree College Udhampur organised an online extempore activity and a poster-making competition to create awareness among students about the harmful effects of drug abuse, as part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan Saptah and the 100-Day Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.

The programmes were conducted under the patronage of Principal GDC Udhampur Prof Dr Bhavnaish Chand Anthal and coordinated by NCORD Committee Convener Dr Shobna Samyal, with the active support of committee members.

The extempore activity, organised on the theme Nasha Mukt Bharat, saw students deliver speeches on the dangers of substance abuse, the importance of a drug-free society and the role of youth in combating addiction. The poster-making competition for students of Semester II and Semester V was held on the theme Drug Menace: Harm to Society at Large and Youth in Particular. In the poster-making competition, Meenakshi (Semester II) secured first position, Afsa (Semester II) second and Asiya (Semester V) third.
