SRINAGAR: The International Yoga Day was observed today on 21 June 2026 with great enthusiasm and participation at Security Complex Humhama. Officers and officials of all Humhama-based security units, namely 3rd JKAP, 11th JKAP, 12th JKAP, Security Headquarters J&K, and STWS, participated in the programme. The event witnessed the active participation of more than 100 personnel.
At the outset, Shri Rakesh Kumar, JKPS, Commandant 12th JKAP Security, welcomed and congratulated all participants for observing International Yoga Day and for their enthusiastic involvement in the programme. While addressing the gathering, he highlighted the significance of yoga in maintaining physical fitness, mental well-being, and emotional balance. He emphasized that regular yoga practice enhances metabolism, builds stamina, improves concentration, reduces stress, and contributes to a healthy and disciplined lifestyle. He further elaborated on the numerous benefits of yoga .
The yoga session was jointly led by Shri Rakesh Kumar, JKPS, Commandant 12th JKAP Security, and Shri Mir Rasheeq Ahmed, Commandant 11th JKAP. During the programme, Shri Rakesh Kumar explained the importance and health benefits of various yoga asanas and breathing exercises performed by the participants. Shri Mir Rasheeq Ahmed led the participants through a series of physical exercises and yoga practices aimed at improving flexibility, endurance, and overall fitness.
All participants performed the exercises with great enthusiasm, dedication, and discipline, reflecting their commitment towards maintaining a healthy lifestyle and promoting the message of wellness through yoga.
At the conclusion of the programme, Shri Rakesh Kumar, JKPS, Commandant 12th JKAP Security, once again congratulated all officers and officials for the successful observance of International Yoga Day. He appreciated their active participation and encouraged them to incorporate yoga into their daily routine to achieve better physical and mental health. The programme concluded on a positive note with a collective resolve to continue promoting the practice of yoga as an integral part of a healthy and balanced life.
