PULWAMA: Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) Thursday organized a daylong awareness cum exposure visit for 35 students of Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Achabal. The visit focused on providing the exposure related to overall functioning of JKEDI and the development of startup ecosystem in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
During their visit, the students interacted with the faculty members and experts of JKEDI who briefed the students about the evolving startup scenario and made them aware about various government incentives and programs available for aspiring entrepreneurs. The students were briefed about the various verticals of JKEDI and their functions. The role of entrepreneurship as a career choice was also discussed during the visit.
Later, the students participated in the question answer session and put forth their understanding of various topics related to startups and entrepreneurship. The exposure visit was coordinated jointly by the three program verticals (CIEC, CNEC, CBD) of the institute. JKEDI faculty, teachers of GBHSS Achabal lead by Masrat Jan, Vocational Trainer for Trade IT and Enabled Services (ITES) participated in the program. The participant students were also briefed about the J&K Startup Policy 2024-27.
The exposure visit was a part of JKEDI’s continued approach towards familiarizing the school students with entrepreneurship as a career choice and enhancing their overall knowledge about the role of startups in shaping the future.
