DLSA Reasi organises awareness programme on various issues

REASI: Under the visionary leadership of Khalil Choudhary, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Reasi (also Pr. District and Sessions Judge Reasi) and the able guidance of Pooja Gupta, Secretary, DLSA Reasi, an awareness programme on water consumption and conservation was successfully conducted by the Para Legal Volunteers of TLSC Mahore at Dewal Mahore.

During the programme PLVs sensitized the public about habits and promote sustainability through education, community engagement and practical conservation techniques. Key strategies include fixing leaks, using efficient fixtures (aerators, low-flow shower heads) and reducing daily waste, often aiming to conserve thousands of liters annually.

Another awareness programme on drug abuse and de-addiction was organized by the Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) of DLSA Reasi at Reasi. During the programme, the PLVs sensitized the participants about the harmful effects of drug abuse on individuals, families and society at large. Emphasis was laid on the importance of staying away from drugs and adopting a healthy and disciplined lifestyle. The participants were also informed about the available de-addiction facilities and the role of legal services institutions in providing support and assistance to affected individuals. The programme witnessed active participation from the local residents, who appreciated the initiative and expressed their willingness to spread awareness in their respective areas.

Another awareness programme on prohibition of child marriage was conducted by the Para Legal Volunteers PLVs of TLSC Katra at Village Sharepur, Katra. During the programme, the participants were sensitized about the harmful effects of child marriage and the legal provisions related to its prohibition. Emphasis was laid on the importance of education, health and the overall well-being of children along with the legal consequences of engaging in or promoting child marriage.
