POONCH: A comprehensive training programme under the Gyan Bharatam Mission was conducted today for surveyors at the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex, Poonch. Training sessions was held for all blocks and the Municipal Council of the district to ensure widespread capacity building. The primary objective of the training programme was to equip surveyors with the necessary skills and knowledge for the digitisation of manuscripts under the Mission.

A district-level committee constituted by the Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Ashok Kumar Sharma, is overseeing the training and capacity building of surveyors. The committee is headed by the District Informatics Officer, NIC as Chairman and includes members such as ACP, Executive Officer Municipality, Head Assistant (Qanoongo/Tehsildar) to DC and Assistant Director Handloom.

During the session, District Informatics Officer Parvinder Singh, Head Assistant (Tehsildar) to DC Pallvi Verma and Assistant Director Handloom, Jyoti Choudhary imparted detailed training to the surveyors.

The participants were sensitised on standardized survey techniques, accurate identification of manuscripts and proper documentation protocols. The training aimed at ensuring consistency, reliability and efficiency in the survey process across the district. The initiative marks a significant step towards preservation and digitisation of valuable manuscript heritage under the Gyan Bharatam Mission.
