DODA: A comprehensive progress review meeting on the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) was held today under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Doda Krishan Lal.
The meeting focused on assessing the implementation status and accelerating ongoing works under RDSS across Doda and Kishtwar divisions. A detailed PowerPoint presentation highlighted key components, including installation of electric poles, HT and LT lines, smart metering and overall strengthening of power infrastructure in the district.
During the meeting, the progress of various works under RDSS and the status of funds released for Doda and Kishtwar were reviewed in detail. Feeder-wise completion plans for Electric Divisions of Doda and Kishtwar were also discussed. Officials informed that several capacity transformers have been installed in multiple areas, while the work on STP poles, AB cables and other infrastructure is in full swing.
The DDC stressed the importance of maintaining quality standards along with timely execution and directed stakeholders to ensure better inter-departmental coordination. He directed all concerned officers and executing agencies including PDD and representatives of Vijay Electricals Pvt. Ltd., to expedite the pace of work by deploying additional manpower and resources. He instructed them to fix clear timelines for each activity and ensure strict adherence to project deadlines.
The meeting also reviewed the implementation of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. Detailed discussions were held on the status of applications received, vendor selection and fund disbursement for solar panel installations. The DDC urged stakeholders to intensify awareness campaigns and ensure wider coverage of the scheme, especially in key and underserved areas. He emphasized promoting renewable energy adoption and directed officials to streamline processes for faster execution and maximum public benefit.
The meeting was attended by CPO Manesh Kumar Manhas, Executive Engineer PDD, AEEs and other stakeholders from Doda and Kishtwar, while Executive Engineers of Gandoh and Kishtwar joined virtually.
