RAJOURI: As part of the ongoing 71st Cooperative Week celebrations, the Cooperative Department Rajouri, in collaboration with the Cooperative Marketing Society Rajouri, organized a district-level programme today. The event was marked by enthusiasm and active participation from various stakeholders. MLA Rajouri Iftikhar Ahmed, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while ADDC Dr. RK Thapa, attended as the Guest of Honour.
The programme commenced with the hoisting of the cooperative flag by the MLA followed by inspection of the stalls displayed by cooperative societies from across the district. In His address, MLA Iftikhar Ahmed described the cooperative movement as a people-centric initiative and highlighted its relevance to the general public. He urged all attendees to contribute to the movement. He called upon the Cooperative Department to promote the "One District, One Product" initiative under its aegis. The MLA stressed the potential of cooperatives to generate employment for the youth and directed the department to organize regular awareness camps to educate the masses about cooperative opportunities.
The ADDC elaborated on the concept of the cooperative movement, emphasizing its importance in fostering community development and economic growth. He encouraged participants to actively engage in cooperative activities and directed the Cooperative Department to take concrete steps to safeguard cooperative assets in the district.
Earlier, Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies welcomed the dignitaries and participants. A series of speeches by representatives from cooperative societies highlighted the rich history, achievements, challenges, and future prospects of the cooperative movement.
