- For enhancing the visibility and outreach of Systematic Votersâ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) activities in J&K
JAMMU: The Regional News Unit, Doordarshan Kendra, Jammu and the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, UT of J&K signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today with the objective of fostering a strategic partnership to enhance the visibility, outreach and effectiveness of Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) activities in the Union Territory.
Recognizing the importance of voter education and the critical role of media in disseminating information, both parties committed to work collaboratively to promote electoral awareness and participation. The MOU outlined the roles and responsibilities of both the CEO Office and RNU, Doordarshan Jammu, in the implementation and promotion of SVEEP activities.
The partnership aimed to ensure comprehensive coverage of SVEEP activities, facilitate public engagement and ultimately contribute to higher voter turnout and informed participation in the electoral process. Shri Vivek Pathak (IIS), Assistant Director, Doordarshan signed the MoU from the side of Doordarshan, Jammu and Sh. Akhtar Qazi, Deputy Director (Information) signed the MoU from the side of CEO J&K.
Both the officers signed the MoU in the presence of the Chief Electoral Officer, J&K, Shri Pandurang K Pole. The CEO J&K instructed to implement the activities under MoU with full dedication and with the aim of promoting voter awareness. Sh. Vivek Pathak (IIS) said that this collaborative effort will lead to a positive uptick in voter awareness about their democratic rights during the elections.
