KULGAM: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Shahzad Alam, today chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review the implementation and progress of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana in the district. During the meeting, Executive Engineer, KPDCL, Kulgam, presented a detailed overview of the progress achieved so far. He informed  that around 4,012 applications have been received for registration under the scheme in the district. Against a target of 625 installations set by the Managing Director KPDCL for Kulgam, the department has already surpassed the target with 659 Solar Rooftop (SRT) systems installed as on date. Additionally, material has been delivered at 62 more sites for further installations.

The DC emphasized on the sub-division wise mass outreach campaign to sensitize public about the scheme. He also directed the KPDCL officials to ensure timely installation of the roof top solar plants and release of subsidies to beneficiaries.  The DC also emphasized to accelerate the conversion of applications submitted to SRT installations.
