JAMMU: BJP State Secretary, Pawan Sharma, wholeheartedly welcomed the Modi Government’s landmark Diwali bonanza of slashing Goods & Services Tax (GST) on 413 essential articles, calling it a festival gift that truly reflects the Prime Minister’s vision of “Ease of Living” and “Ease of Doing Business.”

Sharma said this historic decision will bring direct relief to the common citizens, ensuring that household expenditure is reduced and the purchasing power of every Indian family is strengthened. “By lowering GST on such a wide range of goods, Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji has once again proven his deep sensitivity towards the needs of the poor, the middle class, and small traders alike,” he stated.

He further added that the move would stimulate economic activity, empower small businesses, and encourage local industries by boosting consumer demand. “This Diwali, Modi has ensured that the light of prosperity reaches every household, from urban centers to the remotest villages,” Sharma said.

Highlighting its significance for Jammu & Kashmir, he noted that reduced GST will particularly benefit the people of the Union Territory, where families and businesses have faced economic challenges in recent times. “This reform will lower the cost of essential goods, provide relief to traders, and uplift the morale of our youth engaged in entrepreneurship and self-employment,” he emphasized.

Extending gratitude to the Prime Minister, Sharma reiterated that the BJP is committed to taking every pro-people policy of the Modi Government to the grassroots. “We welcome this bold and people-centric decision, which strengthens the faith of every citizen in Modi Ji’s guarantee of a developed, prosperous, and self-reliant India,” he concluded.
