KUPWARA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan and Vice Chairman District Development Council (DDC) Kupwara, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir today inaugurated the Bagh-E-Shehjaar Eco-Park at Himal Warnow in Lolab Valley. The eco-park has been developed by the J&K Forest Department’s Kamraj Forest Division as part of its efforts to promote ecological sustainability and green tourism in the region.
As significant part of the inauguration ceremony, 40 Chinar saplings were planted within the park premises, symbolizing a commitment to environmental conservation. The event witnessed the presence of DFO Kamraj, Anurag Arya; SDM Lolab, Javid Naseem Masoodi, and other stakeholders who actively participated in the initiative.
On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman planted Chinar saplings under the 'Ek Pead Maa Kay Naam' campaign, emphasizing the importance of afforestation and environmental awareness. The establishment of Bagh-E-Shehjaar Eco-Park is expected to boost eco-tourism in the Lolab Valley while contributing to the preservation of its rich natural heritage.
