BARAMULLA: In connection with the Armed Forces Flag Day on 7th December, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa Friday chaired a meeting at the DC office, here to review the preparations for the observance of the day at both the district and tehsil offices. At the outset, the DC outlined the significance of the commemoration of the day, and highlighted that the Armed Forces Flag Day serves as a reminder for citizens to show their appreciation for sacrifices made by the armed forces for the nation's security.
During the meeting, Minga Sherpa reviewed the arrangements and discussed the schedule of events with the concerned officers, emphasizing the need for proper coordination among all stakeholders. He emphasized the importance of generous donations from civil administration towards the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund, which directly aids in the rehabilitation and welfare of widows, ex-servicemen, and their dependents.
Furthermore, the DC instructed the heads of the concerned departments to ensure flawless preparations are in place to celebrate the day across all district offices and tehsil offices paying a heartfelt tribute to the nation's heroes. The meeting was attended by the ADC Sopore, ASP Baramulla, ACR, SDM Uri, Zila Sainik Welfare Officer, along with officers from the Police, Health, Education and other departments.
