DODA: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Doda Harvinder Singh today conducted a detailed review of the working of Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), with a focus on accelerating service delivery, improving nutritional outcomes and enhancing field-level accountability. The review meeting was held at the mini meeting hall, DC Office Complex.
The DDC Doda reviewed key performance areas including nutritional support for pregnant and lactating women, growth monitoring of children, early childhood education and operational status of Anganwadi Centres across all blocks. He emphasized measurable improvements in child nutrition indicators and directed officials to bridge service gaps through proactive field engagement.
Progress under Poshan Abhiyaan, Aadhaar saturation of beneficiaries and timely disbursement under Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) were assessed. The DDC Doda instructed officers to ensure seamless and timely supply of nutrition to all eligible beneficiaries and maintain strict transparency in distribution mechanisms.
DDC Doda stressed door-to-door outreach to trace left-out beneficiaries and directed immediate corrective measures where gaps were observed. He further encouraged ICDS teams to intensify community mobilisation and awareness activities to strengthen maternal and child care practices at the grassroots level.
The DDC also called for regular monitoring visits by field officers, updated progress reporting and technology-based tracking to ensure scheme saturation and accountability. The meeting was attended by Programme Officer ICDS Akhter Qazi; Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs) from all blocks and other concerned officials.
