DODA: In line with the guidelines of the Swachh Bharat Mission of Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, Government of India, the Municipal Council Doda has declared the town as Open Defecation Free Plus (ODF+).

A public notice regarding the goal was published on February 01, 2020 in local newspapers, inviting objections and suggestions from the citizens of Municipal Council Doda within 15 days. All feedback received during this period was thoroughly reviewed and necessary improvements were implemented on ground to ensure full compliance with ODF+ standards.

After due verification and compliance with the required standards, the Municipal Council Doda officially declared the town as ODF+, marking a significant step towards maintaining improved sanitation and hygiene in the town.

In continuation of this mission, the Council emphasizes that open defecation, open urination and the unauthorized discharge or dumping of sewage in open spaces, drains and water bodies are strictly prohibited and will attract penalties- Rs. 200 for open defecation; Rs. 100 for open urination; Rs.500 for unauthorized discharge or dumping of sewage in open areas, drains and water bodies

The Municipal Council Doda has urged the residents to support and maintain this important civic achievement by adhering to sanitation norms and contributing actively to the town’s cleanliness and public health standards.
