AWANTIPORA: The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) organized an insightful program on Aquaculture and Food Processing in Kashmir, as part of its Industry Connect Initiative led by the Department of Food Technology. This event aimed to bridge the gap between academia and industry, empowering students with the knowledge and skills to thrive in the food sector.
Prominent speakers included Mr. Pardha Saradai, Business Head at K2 Aquaculture, Khyber Group, and CA. Umer Bashir, Corporate Head of Khyber Group. They shared valuable insights into the industrial landscape of Kashmir, emphasizing the untapped potential for startups and career opportunities in aquaculture and food processing. Mr. Umer highlighted the entrepreneurial possibilities in the food industry, appreciating the department's efforts in hosting capacity-building initiatives.
Dr. Tariq Ahmad Ganaie, Head of the Department, and Dr. Aamir Hussain Dar, IUST Coordinator for Industrial Connect, underscored the importance of fostering collaborations between educational institutions and leading industries.
