SRINAGAR: Continuing its unwavering efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police in Anantnag arrested a notorious drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A police party of Police Station Srigufwara at a checkpoint established at Nowshara crossing, apprehended a notorious drug peddler identified as Mohd Amin Zargar, son-in-law of Gh Hassan Ganie resident of Sirhama.
During his search, approximately 2.9 kilograms of a cannabis substance was recovered from his possession. He was shifted to Police Station where he remains in Police custody. Accordingly, a case FIR No. 97/2024, under relevant sections of NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Srigufwara and investigation has been taken up.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
