UDHAMPUR: A two-day Disaster Management Awareness and Mock Drill Program was conducted at Government Girls High School, Johnu (Zone Jib) Udhampur under the leadership of Commandant General Homeguards, Civil Defence, SDRF J&K, S.J.M. Gilani and the guidance of IGP HG/CD & SDRF Jammu, Umesh Kumar. The event was organized under the supervision of Dy. SP, Dy. Controller Civil Defence Anu Kumar and witnessed enthusiastic participation from 120 students and staff members.
During the program, the participants were educated on crucial disaster preparedness measures, including First Aid Techniques, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), Choking Management, Fire Safety & Prevention Measures, Leakage of LPG Gas Cylinders and Emergency Rescue Methods The primary objective of the program was to equip students with life-saving skills and knowledge to respond effectively to both natural and man-made calamities.
Speaking on the occasion, Dy.SP, Dy. Controller Civil Defence Udhampur, emphasized the importance of disaster preparedness and the need for community participation in emergency response efforts. He also expressed gratitude to all participants for their active involvement in the program. This initiative reflects the commitment of Civil Defence Udhampur toward fostering a culture of safety, resilience, and disaster readiness among youth.
