KISHTWAR: Ten enthusiastic students from Kishtwar District, Jammu and Kashmir, returned from an educational tour of ISRO's Space Application Centre (SAC) in Ahmadabad, Gujarat. District Administration Kishtwar sponsored this space exploration tour to ISRO (Space Application Centre), Ahmadabad Gujarat in collaboration with DIET Kishtwar and Vyomika Space Lab under the leadership of the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav.
This camp was led by two lecturers Dr. Meena Kumari (Lecturer in Chemistry) from GHSS Palmar and Anees Mohd. (Lecturer Physics) from GHSS Boys Kishtwar along with 10 students from different Govt. Institution of district Kishtwar, who embarked on their journey on July 15th and returned on July 19th, 2024. The Deputy Commissioner holds an interactive session with the students in his office chamber and inquired about their experiences during the tour.
The students informed the DC that during the visit, they met with Nilesh Desai, Director of SAC ISRO and Deepak Singh, Scientist at SAC ISRO Ahmadabad. They extended their gratitude to them for their support during the tour. The students while sharing their experience informed that they embarked on an enlightening journey through the corridors of the Space Application Centre (SAC) in Ahmedabad.
The students extended gratitude to Deputy Commissioner, Dr Devansh Yadav for organising such tour and expected more such initiative in future too. DC emphasized that the tour aimed to create awareness in the field of astronomy and space science among students, motivating and encouraging young minds to become scientists and astronomers. It provided an opportunity for students from rural and remote areas to exhibit their talent and come to the forefront in the field of astronomy.
