JAMMU: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former state secretary J&K, Pawan Sharma, has strongly criticized Chief Minister Omar Abdullah over his recent statement about offering resignation and stepping aside in the name of statehood for Jammu and Kashmir. Sharma termed it as an evasion of responsibility and a clear attempt to shift the blame from his own shoulders.
Sharma pointed out that the Chief Minister has failed to address the pressing issues in Jammu and Kashmir, including unemployment, corruption, and terrorism. He demanded that the Chief Minister should focus on finding solutions to these issues rather than making empty remarks. Sharma questioned the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, saying that he has failed to provide effective leadership to the state. He urged the Chief Minister to take concrete steps to address the challenges facing the state.
Calling the move "misleading and an escape from accountability," Sharma stated: âWe will not allow Omar Abdullah to wash his hands off the responsibilities he was elected for. The people of Jammu and Kashmir gave him a massive mandate, expecting genuine governance and reform. Instead of delivering on promises, he is indulging in theatrics.â
Sharma added that the National Conference (NC) government has utterly failed to fulfill its election promises. The situation across the Union Territory is dire â Daily wagers feel betrayed, Unemployed youth are losing hope, and Despite thousands of vacancies across departments, the government shows no seriousness towards recruitment. âAdhocism is at its peak. Government employees in every department are struggling for career progression. Promotions are stalled, and only temporary stop-gap arrangements are being made,â he said.
Sharma emphasized that the BJP will continue to hold the Chief Minister accountable for his actions. He urged the Chief Minister to take responsibility for the current state of affairs in Jammu and Kashmir and work towards finding solutions to the pressing issues facing the state. Sharma appealed to the people to see through the theatrics and hold the NC government accountable for its non-performance, inefficiency, and misgovernance.
