JAMMU: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu hosted the Valedictory Ceremony of the Capacity Building Program (Batch-3) for officials of the Finance, Planning & Monitoring Department, Government of Jammu & Kashmir. The program was organized under the aegis of the Centre for Innovation and Transformation in Governance (CITaG) and concluded on May 28, 2025, at the state-of-the-art Vivekananda Classroom, Jagti Campus of IIM Jammu. Thevaledictory ceremony was graced by Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu.

Present on the occasion were Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean, Faculty and Research; Prof. Sanjay Pathak, Chairperson, Executive Education and Consultancy (EE&C); Prof. Rajesh Sikka, Co-Chairperson, EE&C; Prof. Pranab Ranjan Das, Chairperson, Centre for Small Business Development (SBDU); Prof. Ravij Seth, and Dr. Pradeep K. Tarei, Dr. Sourav Mondal, Dr. Vivek Mishra, and Dr. Prakrit Silal, who served as Program Directors for the initiative.

In his address, Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu commended the active participation of the officials and reaffirmed IIM Jammu’s commitment to building a more efficient, transparent, and citizen-centric governance system. He emphasized the vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India for a Viksit Bharat by 2047, highlighting the need for clearly defined goals and timelines in governance reform. He expressed confidence that the knowledge and skills gained through the program would enhance administrative capacity in the Union Territory and position CITaG as a national model for good governance.

Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean, Faculty and Research, IIM Jammu in his valedictory address, praised the Government of Jammu & Kashmir for its proactive engagement with IIM Jammu and urged participants to apply their learnings in real-world administrative settings. He noted that the initiative sets a precedent for capacity-building efforts across the country.

Prof. Sanjay Pathak,Chairperson, Executive Education and Consultancy (EE&C) highlighted the importance of interdepartmental collaboration and peer learning, describing the program as a meaningful step toward more cohesive governance practices.

The keynote address was delivered by Prof. Ravij Seth, Program Director, Capacity Building Program for Finance and Planning Officials of Govt. of J & K under CITaG who underscored the significance of innovation and upskilling in improving public service delivery. A detailed program report was presented by Dr. Pradeep Kumar Tarei, Program Director, Capacity Building Program for Finance and Planning Officials of Govt. of J & K under CITaG after which participants shared their reflections, emphasizing the program’s practical relevance and transformational impact.

Certificates were distributed to participants in recognition of their successful completion of the program. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Malaya Ranjan Mohapatra, who expressed gratitude to all stakeholders for their collaboration and commitment. The valedictory ceremony culminated with the National Anthem.

The Centre for Innovation and Transformation in Governance (CITaG) at IIM Jammu aims to serve as a catalyst for administrative reform and public sector excellence. Through its focus on capacity building, policy innovation, and public-private collaboration, CITaG aspires to elevate Jammu & Kashmir to the ranks of the best-performing states and union territories in India.This training program was coordinated by IIM Jammu’s Executive Education and Consultancy (EE&C).
