UDHAMPUR: In a proactive measure in advance to deal with any eventuality of flash floods, landslides occurrence during the monsoon season, Additional Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Prem Singh chaired a meeting with officers from various line departments to review and discuss their flood preparedness strategies.
During the meeting, the ADC emphasized the importance of inter-departmental coordination in managing emergencies effectively. He stressed the need for robust flood prevention measures in vulnerable areas. The ADC directed all agencies to keep their resources and manpower ready for any emergency. Concerned officers were directed to inspect flood-prone locations in their areas with the assistance of Lambardars and Chowkidars and implement preventive measures.
They were also asked to stay vigilant and report any unusual rise in water levels in rivers and Nallahs to the control room daily. CEO MC Udhampur was instructed to conduct special drives for drain cleanliness, sanitation, and fogging in Udhampur town. SDM and Tehsildars were asked to organize Swachhta drives and raise public awareness in their respective areas.
