RAJOURI: In a heartbreaking incident reported from village Sialsui in Kalakote Sub Division, two children lost their lives due to drowning while grazing cattle near a flooded water body. The deceased have been identified as Raqfat Ali, son of Mohammad Shabir & Safeena Kouser, daughter of Mohammad Kabir. Another child, Saima Chowdhary daughter of Mohammad Shabir, sustained injuries in the incident.
Soon after receiving information about the tragedy, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma deputed a team of officers led by Additional Deputy Commissioner Kalakote to visit the site. The team comprised Tehsildar Kalakote, Naib Tehsildar HQ, PHC Sialsui staff, and police personnel, who rushed to the location to assess the situation and extend necessary assistance.
The District Administration expressed grief over the loss of innocent lives and assured all possible support to the bereaved families. Directions were issued to ensure proper medical care for the injured child and to complete all requisite formalities related to the incident.
The Deputy Commissioner has appealed to the general public, especially in rural and hilly areas, to exercise extreme caution during the ongoing monsoon season, particularly around water bodies. Further necessary measures are being taken to prevent such unfortunate incidents in the future.
