JAMMU: The Department of Tourism & Travel Management, School of Business Studies, Central University of Jammu, organised an eminent lecture on “Orange, Blue and Green Economies: Triple Engine for Viksit Bharat@2047”, highlighting the role of sustainable and creative economic models in India’s long-term development vision.

 The event was organised under the patronage of Vice-chancellor, Prof. Sanjeev Jain. The session commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Ranjeet Kumar Raman, HoD Department of Tourism and Travel Management who emphasised the relevance of interdisciplinary approaches and sustainability-driven discourse in higher education, particularly in the context of tourism and development studies.

Dr. Ravinder Dogra, a distinguished academician and policy expert from the National Institute of Watersports–IITTM, Goa, delivered the eminent lecture. He comprehensively explained the concept of the Orange Economy as a driver of creativity, culture, heritage, and knowledge-based industries; the Blue Economy as a catalyst for the sustainable utilization of marine and aquatic resources; and the Green Economy as a foundation for environmentally responsible and climate-resilient growth. Dr. Dogra emphasized that the strategic convergence of these three economic pillars can serve as a powerful engine for inclusive, sustainable, and innovation-driven development, significantly contributing to the realization of the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.

Prof. Neelika Arora, Dean, School of Business Studies, in her address, underscored the importance of integrating sustainability, innovation, and ethics into academic curricula and research. Prof. Jaya Bhasin, Head, Department of Human Resource Management and Organisational Behaviour, highlighted the role of human capital, leadership, and behavioural transformation in driving sustainable economic models.

The lecture witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, research scholars, and students, leading to meaningful deliberations on sustainable tourism, policy frameworks, and inclusive development.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Bharti Gupta, who expressed gratitude to the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Sanjeev Jain, the resource person, dignitaries, faculty members, and students for their active participation and support in making the event a success. The Department reaffirmed its commitment to promoting academic excellence and policy-oriented dialogue in alignment with national development goals.
