BHADERWAH: Bhaderwah Campus of University of Jammu today organized a highly impactful Nukkad Natak (Skit) on the theme “Nasha Mukt Bharat” here in the Campus’s Lal Ded Auditorium.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of Little Angel School and the School of Education Bhaderwah Campus. Their thought-provoking performances delivered a strong social message against the growing menace of drugs in society. The skits were highly appreciated by the audience for their realistic portrayal and powerful message.

  Campus Rector Prof. Rahul Gupta stressed the collective responsibility of educational institutions, parents, society and law enforcement agencies in combating the serious challenge. He appreciated the efforts of the students and organizers for taking up such a socially relevant initiative and termed awareness as the strongest weapon in the fight against drugs.

Additional Superintendent of Police Vinod Sharma, who was the Chief Guest on the occasion, spoke extensively on the devastating impact of drug addiction on individuals, families and society. He appreciated the students who presented the skits for conveying such a beautiful and meaningful message through their performances. He also urged the youth to remain vigilant and stay away from substance abuse.

SDPO Naveed Showkat Qazi, the guest of honour, also addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of awareness campaigns and community participation in eliminating the drug menace from society. He stated that educational institutions play a vital role in shaping the mindset of youth and such awareness programmes help students understand the long-term consequences of addiction. He further appealed to the younger generation to channelize their energy towards education, sports and constructive activities for building a progressive and healthy society.

Head of the Department of English and Officiating I/C Campus Prof. Rakesh Sharma appreciated the initiative undertaken by the Campus in creating awareness among students and society. He highlighted that drug abuse not only destroys the future of individuals but also weakens the social fabric of communities. He encouraged students to act as ambassadors of social change and actively participate in campaigns aimed at spreading awareness against substance abuse.

Dr. Kuljit Singh, Academic Coordinator presented the formal welcome address. He emphasized that institutions of higher learning have a social responsibility to educate students not only academically but also morally and socially.

External Relations Officer Arif Khateeb highlighted the continuous efforts of Bhaderwah Campus in generating awareness and strengthening the fight against the growing drug menace through various outreach and educational programmes.
