KATHUA: A preparatory meeting to review arrangements for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET)-2026 was today held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma at the DC Office Complex here.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner held a detailed discussion on logistics, staff deployment and infrastructure required for the smooth and hassle-free conduct of the examination scheduled to be held on May 3, 2026.

It was informed that two examination centres have been established in the district viz Government Degree College (Boys) Kathua and Army Public School, Janglote, to accommodate 600 and 566 aspirants respectively.

A threadbare discussion was held on security arrangements, deputation of examination staff including Centre Superintendents, invigilators and supporting personnel, installation and monitoring of CCTV surveillance and secure transportation and handling of examination material.

The Deputy Commissioner stressed the need for strict adherence to prescribed guidelines and directed all concerned departments to ensure foolproof arrangements, maintaining utmost transparency and discipline throughout the examination process.

The DC emphasised coordinated efforts among all stakeholders to facilitate a conducive environment for candidates and ensure the examination is conducted in a smooth, fair and organised manner.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Vishavjeet Singh; DySP Ravinder Singh; Principal, Kendriya Vidyalaya Janglote (representative of National Testing Agency) and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
