JAMMU: Director School Education Jammu today chaired a review meeting attended by Joint Directors and Chief Education Officers of Jammu Division here at the Directorate headquarters Muthi. Personnel Officer Manisha and other officials of the Directorate also attended the meeting. The meeting, comprehensive in both scope and intent, focused on a wide spectrum of academic, administrative and developmental issues central to the functioning of the School Education Department.
At the outset, the Director undertook a detailed review of the recently declared Class 10th and 12th Board Examination results (Winter and Summer Zones). District-wise, zone-wise and institution-wise performance was assessed with emphasis on pass percentage, subject performance and comparative trends.
The Director complimented schools, students and the teaching fraternity for the commendable performance recorded this year. He urged institutions fallen short of expectations to introspect and redouble their efforts. Calling for collective resolve, he urged all stakeholders to work in unison to secure even better results in the years ahead.
The issue of Masters' Seniority was also discussed at length. Stressing the importance of transparency, fairness and procedural correctness, the Director directed the concerned officers to expedite all pending matters in accordance with established norms and regulations.
Acknowledging the growing importance of digital learning, the meeting deliberated extensively on the preparation of high-quality subject-wise e-content, including detailed video lectures and supplementary academic material. Officers were instructed to ensure that such resources are developed systematically and made accessible to students across all regions, particularly those in remote and underserved areas.
A detailed review was also conducted regarding the progress of K-12 schools across Jammu Division. Zone-wise, block-wise and tehsil-wise assessments were undertaken to evaluate academic standards, infrastructural development, implementation of innovative practices and overall institutional preparedness. “These schools must evolve into centres of excellence and innovation,’ the Director emphasized.
The Plantation Drive undertaken across schools also came up for review. District-wise Action Taken Reports were examined and officers were directed to ensure not only the completion of plantation targets but also the survival, maintenance and sustained care of the saplings planted.
The meeting further reviewed the status of online classes being conducted across schools. Comprehensive data regarding schools and teachers actively engaged in virtual instruction was sought. The Director reiterated that digital teaching must continue to complement conventional classroom practices and serve as an effective mechanism for filling learning gaps, reinforcing classroom instruction and ensuring academic continuity for every student.
Financial management under Samagra Shiksha formed another major component of the discussions. Budget allocations, expenditure patterns, pending liabilities and future financial planning were reviewed in detail to ensure optimal utilization of available resources.
Finally, the Director reviewed the list of works completed during the financial year 2025-26, both in physical and financial terms. Officers were directed to ensure timely completion, proper documentation and strict adherence to quality standards in all developmental projects.
Speaking on the occasion, the Director observed, "Educational progress is built upon constant review, timely intervention and collective commitment. Every officer, every institution and every teacher has a crucial role in shaping the future of our students. We must celebrate success, address shortcomings and move forward together with renewed determination."
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to academic excellence, administrative efficiency and the holistic development of the school education sector across Jammu Division.
