RAMBAN: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Ramban Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, under the 'Outreach Programme', the Department of Health and Medical Education under the aegis of its Director, Dr Rakesh Mangotra and supervision of Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Kamal Jee Zadoo, today organised a mega medical camp in Bhatni which is the remotest Panchayat of Ramban district, bordering Udhampur and Reasi districts.
As many as 880 patients besides students of three schools were examined and given free medicines during the Mega Medical Camp. Medical Camp was inaugurated by the Block Medical Officer, Batote, Dr Opinder Singh. A team of seven doctors including Ortho Consultant, Dr. Balvinder Singh examined the patients.
On the occasion, free spectacles were distributed among 75 patients under the National Programme for Control of Blindness & Visual Impairment after testing their eyes. Dr. Ankula examined students of three local schools under the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakarm (RBSK).
According to BMO, Dr. Opinder Singh, under the Family Planning Programme 4 Copper-T were inserted and two Copper-T were removed besides distributing 420 condoms and Mala-D tablets among 36 women.
