BARAMULLA: Youth Services and Sports Department J&K today inaugurated the Inter-District Provincial Level Under-19 Boys Handball Competition at the Indoor Stadium Baramulla. The event was graced by Syed Qamar Sajad, Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Baramulla, who officially opened the competition.
This competition, held under the expert supervision of Rashid Kohli, Joint Director Youth Services and Sports Kashmir Province, is hosted by the Department of Youth Services and Sports District Baramulla. The event has attracted participation from almost 10 districts of the Kashmir province, showcasing the remarkable talent and sportsmanship of young athletes from the region.
The competition, which kicked-off today, will run until 5th August 2024 at the Indoor Stadium Baramulla. It features various age categories for both boys and girls, providing a comprehensive platform for young athletes to demonstrate their skills and compete at a high level.
During his inaugural address, ADDC Baramulla expressed his admiration for the Department of Youth Services and Sports for organizing such a significant event for young athletes. He commended their efforts in promoting sports and nurturing young talent, emphasizing the importance of such competitions in shaping the future of sports in the region.
ADDC extended his best wishes to all participants, hoping for their bright future in the field of sports. Earlier, Nazir Ahmad Bhat, District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Baramulla, delivered a warm welcome speech. He highlighted the importance of sports in the holistic development of youth and reiterated the departmentâs commitment to providing more opportunities for young athletes to excel.
