BUDGAM: Continuing its sustained efforts under the ongoing 100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyaan, J&K Police conducted a series of anti-drug awareness programmes, community outreach activities and village-level Police Community Partnership Group (PCPG) meetings across the district to spread awareness against the menace of drug abuse.

As part of the campaign, Budgam Police organised a Market Area Awareness Drive at Charar-i-Shareif, door-to-door awareness programme at Magam, street play at Hardupanzu and interaction with shopkeepers and other dealers at Mouchwa. In addition, village-level PCPG meetings were held at various locations including Allahpora, Herangan (Sub-Division Budgam), Fresdub, Uqab Islamic Educational Trust Zoolwa, Brenwar, Pakherpora, Darwan Nowgam (Sub-Division Charar-i-Shareif), Yagipora, Pethzanigam, Charangam, Sugan, Pethmakaham, Yarigund (Sub-Division Magam), Chamboora and Chanapora (Sub-Division Khansahib).

The programmes were aimed at creating mass awareness regarding the harmful effects of drug abuse and encouraging active community participation in eradicating the menace from society. During the interactions, police officers sensitised participants about the importance of remaining vigilant against drug-related activities and urged the general public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies in maintaining a safe, healthy and drug-free society.

Police reiterated its commitment to continue such awareness and enforcement initiatives under the Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyaan to safeguard the youth and strengthen the fight against narcotics.
