SRINAGAR: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Bandipora in coordination with Tehsil Legal Services Authority Bandipora and in collaboration with Education Department Bandipora Saturday organized Legal Awareness programme on Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act 2012 at Govt Higher Secondary School Pazalpora Bandipora.
The programme was held under the supervision of Chairman DLSA Bandipora, Amit Sharma and guidance of Secretary DLSA Bandipora, Nusrat Ali Hakak. Speaking on the occasion, Advocate Tariq Ahmad Bhat and Advocate Majid Mushtaq panel lawyers of DLSA Bandipora delivered speeches on the said topic.
The aim of the programme was to sensitize children on POCSO related issues as child Sexual Abuse is a major concern, which is increasing day by day and children being most vulnerable section of the society are susceptible to physical and psychological abuse.
Participants were encouraged to stand up for their own safety and security in order to prevent crime against children. The programme was attended by Officers/Officials, Students of the said institution, PLVs and other participants.
