JAMMU: The workshop was being held as part of the initiatives taken by Balnoi Battalion for the “Agniveers” through specially designed training modules as a move toward prioritising mental wellness at work and was attended by 56 Jawans, Officers and staff of PHF and KIRF. Speaker of the session Dr. Abdul Ghani who is an eminent Orthopaedician, Author, Writer and HOU in the Dept. of Orthopaedics GMC Jammu said that the workshop will motivate participants to make full use of this opportunity to learn stress management, behavioural modification skills, personal and organisational values, empathy, teamwork, smart goal concept, and other related values.
He added managing stress is all about taking charge, taking charge of your thoughts, your emotions, your schedule, your environment, and the way you deal with problems. He said the ultimate goal is a balanced life, with time for work, relationships, relaxation and fun, plus the resilience to hold up under pressure and meet challenges head on. He urged the participants to fully utilise this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity by focusing on reorientation skills, attitudinal adjustments, mental fortitude, and other key abilities for all phases of life in today’s environment which require inner re-engineering to contribute one’s best in the service to nation.
Commanding Officer of the unit Ashwani pandita said the aim of the workshop, designed by People's Hut Foundation in collaboration with KIRF was to reduce the mental stress among the participating personnel due to the nature of their work. "It is an interactive workshop where reasons for stress were discussed and practical solutions as to how to overcome it were shared. There is a lot of enthusiasm among the troops regarding the workshop,” the officer said. In the Vote of thanks Col. Ashwani added that the deliberations were very impactful and were appreciated by the participants. At the end there was Q&A session in which both Jawans and officers participated.
