JAMMU: The Indian Institute of Management Jammu concluded the five-day residential Advanced Management Development Programme (MDP) conducted under the Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programme (ESDP) of the Development Commissioner MSME, Ministry of MSME, Government of India on 27th Feb 2026. The programme was held from 23rd to 27th February 2026 at the Jagti Campus of IIM Jammu. The valedictory ceremony marked the culmination of an enriching academic engagement that brought together 35 entrepreneurs from Jammu & Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Punjab. The diverse cohort comprised established entrepreneurs dedicated to scaling their enterprises and contributing to regional and national economic growth.
Prof. Rajesh Sikka, Co-Chairperson, Executive Education & Consultancy (EE&C), stated that the Advanced MDP was designed to strengthen managerial mindset, sharpen strategic capabilities, and provide exposure to contemporary business frameworks. He appreciated the diverse industry experiences of participants, which enriched peer learning.
He further noted that Indian Institute of Management Jammu, as a new-generation IIM, has rapidly emerged as a leading institution and is among the early first-second- third generation IIMs to receive two prestigious international accreditations within a year. Highlighting the Institute’s growing engagement with MSMEs and collaborations with policy bodies such as NITI Aayog, he encouraged participants to stay connected with the Institute and leverage its academic support for sustained growth.
Dr. Ramswarup Bhaskar presented a concise summary of the five-day programme, highlighting its key sessions on strategic management, financial planning, marketing, digital transformation, operations excellence, and leadership. He described the programme as a steppingstone for MSME leaders to build resilient and growth-oriented enterprises, emphasizing adaptability, innovation, and continuous learning in a competitive, technology-driven environment. He also thanked the participants for their active engagement throughout the programme.
The programme was coordinated by the Executive Education & Consultancy Office of IIM Jammu, comprising Shri Pardeep Saini, Program Officer–Business Development; Shri Arif Ji, Executive; Ms. Rupali Jamwal, Junior Executive; and Shri Anil Ji, Executive Assistant, EE & C, IIM Jammu, whose dedicated support ensured the smooth conduct of the programme.
Participants shared their reflections on the programme, appreciating the practical orientation of the sessions and the opportunity to learn from experienced and distinguished faculty members. They noted that the programme enhanced their confidence, broadened their strategic perspective, and provided actionable insights into business growth. Several participants acknowledged IIM Jammu’s role in fostering entrepreneurial development and expressed that the Institute is playing a pivotal role in advancing the MSME sector and contributing to the economic progress of Jammu & Kashmir and the nation.
The Advanced Management Development Programme reaffirmed IIM Jammu’s commitment to capacity building and entrepreneurial development under national initiatives aimed at strengthening the MSME ecosystem. By equipping entrepreneurs with strategic insights, managerial competencies, and collaborative networks, the Institute continues to contribute meaningfully to India’s vision of inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
The valedictory ceremony concluded with the distribution of the group photograph to participants, followed by a formal vote of thanks delivered by Shri Pardeep Saini, Program Officer–Business Development, Executive Education & Consultancy, Indian Institute of Management Jammu, marking the completion of yet another impactful executive education initiative at the Institute.
