KATHUA: The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of the University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), Kathua Campus, University of Jammu, organized an expert lecture on the theme “No-Code, Functional Roles and Generative AI.”
The session aimed to provide insights into emerging technological trends, with a special focus on the growing relevance of no-code platforms, functional roles in the tech industry, and the transformative potential of generative AI. The lecture served as a valuable platform for students and faculty to understand how innovation is reshaping modern workplaces and evolving skill requirements.
The programme was graced by distinguished dignitaries including Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Rector/Coordinator, UIET, Kathua Campus; Dr. Rockey Gupta, I/C Principal, UIET, Kathua Campus; and Dr. Sourabh Shastri, I/C Head, Department of Computer Science and IT. They emphasized the importance of such initiatives in fostering innovation and enhancing industry readiness among students. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Mahesh Koul, President, IIC, UIET, Kathua Campus.
The keynote address was delivered by Er. Nipun Sharma, Senior Software Developer at Cognizant, who served as the Resource Person for the session. Drawing from his professional experience, he elaborated on the practical applications of no-code tools, the evolving role of functional expertise in technology-driven environments, and the rapid advancements in generative AI. His engaging and informative talk encouraged students to develop interdisciplinary skills and remain adaptable in a fast-changing technological landscape.
The lecture witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members. An interactive question-and-answer session followed, during which participants actively engaged with the speaker and sought guidance on career pathways and emerging opportunities in the field.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Er. Javaid Ahmad Rather, Head, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, UIET, who acknowledged the efforts of the organizing team and expressed gratitude to the speaker and participants for making the session a success. Dr. Reemani Verma, Assistant Professor, Communication Skills, UIET, coordinated the entire event.
