SRINAGAR: Bilaliya Educational Institute hosted an engaging traffic awareness session aimed at promoting road safety and responsible behaviour among students. The event was graced by SSP Traffic City Srinagar, Mr. Muzaffar Ahmad Shah, JKPS, who served as the keynote speaker. He highlighted the crucial importance of adhering to traffic rules, avoiding over-speeding, and fostering a culture of road discipline.
Mr. Shah interacted with students, encouraging them to become advocates for traffic safety within their families and communities. He emphasized the shared and collective responsibility in reducing road mishaps and the value of early education in instilling responsible behavior.
The session also included a solemn moment of prayer for the young boys who tragically lost their lives in a recent road accident at the Tengpora bypass. This tragedy served as a saddening reminder of the pressing need for traffic safety awareness.
Chairman of Bilaliya Educational Institute, Mr. Manzoor Wangnoo, who also heads NLCO (Nigeen Lake Conservation Organisation), KWT (Kashmir Welfare Trust), and MEERC (Moral Education, Environment & Relief Council of Private Schools Association), lauded the administration and SSP Traffic Srinagar for their commitment to public safety. He stressed the role of moral education alongside traffic safety awareness to nurture disciplined and conscientious citizens.
Mr. Wangnoo called upon parents to remain vigilant about their children’s driving practices, strictly prohibiting underage driving and ensuring proper licensing and adherence to speed limits. On-spot directions were issued by Chairman BEI to the institute’s principal and staff to ensure the enforcement of traffic guidelines and prioritize student safety.
He reminded attendees that the initiative of public awareness regarding traffic safety began at Bilaliya Educational Institute two years ago and pledged his continued commitment to fostering road safety, holistic education, and community welfare.
The institute expressed heartfelt gratitude to SSP Traffic City Srinagar for his valuable insights and for inspiring students to embrace road safety as a collective responsibility.
