JAMMU: Department of Hindi and Other Indian Languages, Central University of Jammu, Organized grand alumni meet under the able guidance of the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sanjeev Jain.
Dean of Student Welfare, Prof. Ritu Bakshi was invited as a special guest on the occasion. In her address Prof. Bakshi called upon the alumni of the Hindi Department to contribute to the development of the department as well as the university. She informed that a guest house will be established very soon in the university campus for the alumni of the university. During this, Head, Department of Hindi, Prof. Bharat Bhushan, Dr. Shashikant Mishra and alumni welcomed the special guest.
HoD Prof. Bharat Bhushan, in his address, welcomed the alumni and expressed happiness that under the able guidance of the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sanjeev Jain, the university is moving towards development by leaps and bounds and the problems of the students addressed immediately. Assistant Professor Kavita Devi in Jammu and Kashmir Government, journalist Mangesh Kumar, Chahat Mahajan selected for the post of SI in Jammu and Kashmir Police praised the university in their views and assured to provide all kinds of support in future. About 32 former students participated in the program and gave their suggestions. Many alumni participated in various entertaining competitions organized on this occasion and prizes were given to the winners. On this occasion, HoD Prof. Bharat Bhushan and alumni honored HVC Prof. Sanjeev Jain by presenting a shawl and memento.
The Head of Department resolved many doubts of the alumni. Earlier, the coordinator of the program, Dr. Vandana Sharma, Assistant Professor welcomed everyone and the current students presented Saraswati Vandana. HoD Prof. Bharat Bhushan was honored by Dr. Ratnesh Kumar Yadav, while in the end, Associate professor of the Department Dr. Shashikant Mishra expressed his gratitude.
New committee was also formed to maintain relations among the alumni of the department, in which Isha Balgotra was made the president, Kavita Bhagat and Mangesh Kumar were made vice-presidents, Chahat Mahajan was made secretary, Mamta Devi was made the co-secretary and Shivani was made the treasurer. On this occasion, all the faculty, researchers and students of the department were present.
