BHADERWAH: A special awareness camp on the PM Vishwakarma Scheme and other self-employment initiatives of the government was successfully conducted at the Community Hall, Bhaderwah.  The event was organized by the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) in collaboration with various district-level departments to support artisans and skilled workers. 

The programme saw enthusiastic participation from over 300 artisans, trainees from RSETI, and students from ITI Bhaderwah.  Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh was the Chief Guest, along with several key officials, including Additional Deputy Commissioner Bhaderwah Sunil Kumar, General Manager DIC Paramjeet Singh and Assistant Directors of MSME DFO Jammu, Rajesh Kumar (IEDS) and D.K. Tyagi. 

Other government functionaries present included the Director RSETI, District Social Welfare Officer, Tehsildar Bhaderwah, and representatives from  banking and employment support agencies. The programme highlighted the benefits of the PM Vishwakarma scheme, which aims to empower artisans by providing skill upgradation training, financial assistance, and toolkits worth up to â‚č15,000. Additionally, collateral-free enterprise development loans of up to â‚č3 lakh were promoted to encourage self-employment. Officials from the banking sector and CSC centers provided guidance on the registration process and credit support.

During the event, the importance of e-commerce onboarding, trade collaborations, and financial inclusions under the scheme was discussed. Experts emphasized that artisans should register on the PM Vishwakarma portal to avail themselves of the scheme’s benefits. Motivational sessions were also conducted to encourage participants to take advantage of the opportunities provided by the government.

The awareness programme concluded with an address by the Deputy Commissioner, who emphasized the need for self-reliance among artisans and the role of such schemes in promoting entrepreneurship and traditional craftsmanship. The event ended with a vote of thanks by the General Manager of DIC, highlighting the collective efforts of all departments in making the programme a success.
