JAMMU: BJP Executive Member Raman Suri has strongly condemned the brutal killing of three innocent people, including a teenager, in Kathua district, terming it a cowardly act aimed at disturbing peace in Jammu. He expressed deep anguish over the rising terrorist activities in the region and urged the administration, security forces, and elected representatives to step forward and address the concerns of the people.
âThe sacrifice of the villagers must not go in vain. The government and security agencies must channel the anger of the people into a united fight against terrorism,â Suri stated. He warned against certain elements attempting to portray this heinous massacre as an accident, urging the government to swiftly address public doubts and ensure their security.
Highlighting the shifting strategy of terrorists, he pointed out that after increased pressure in Kashmir, many districts of Jammu, including Kathua, Reasi, Doda, and Rajouri-Poonch, have become new hideouts for terror modules. âSecurity agencies have acknowledged that dozens of terrorists are hiding in the mountainous terrain of these districts and have carried out multiple attacks over the past year. Despite the governmentâs strict stance, these elements remain a threat that must be neutralized at the earliest,â he added.
Raman Suri also criticized those who are trying to derail the counter-terrorism efforts of security forces. âSome people are unhappy with the firm actions taken against terrorism and want to obstruct operations against these terrorists. A separate strategy must be devised to deal with such elements so that the peace of Jammu is not jeopardized by this poisonous vine of terror,â he asserted.
He called upon the administration to actively engage with the affected people, listen to their grievances, and assure them of full security. âThe people of Jammu must not feel abandoned. Their safety is paramount, and the government must act decisively to eliminate terrorism from the region,â he concluded.
