HANDWARA: In a significant step towards combating drug abuse and creating awareness among the public, Police in Handwara organized a medical camp at TRC Handwara, under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan 2024-25. The event aimed to provide general awareness, counselling, and support to individuals struggling with addiction.
The camp saw the active participation of the Addiction Treatment Facility team from District Hospital Handwara, who provided expert counselling and guidance to attendees. The initiative focused on educating the community about the dangers of drug abuse, the importance of seeking timely help, and the availability of treatment facilities for those affected.
Speaking at the event, a senior police officer emphasized the need for collective efforts to eradicate drug abuse from society. "The Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan is a nationwide campaign, and we are committed to ensuring its success in Handwara. Through such initiatives, we aim to create a drug-free environment and provide support to those in need.
The medical camp also offered free health check-ups and consultations for individuals seeking help for addiction.
