JAMMU: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) District Pahadi observed 'Samvidhan Hatya Diwas' on the day of imposition of Emergency at Billawar. Former Deputy Mayor Jammu Baldev Singh Billawaria was the chief guest and keynote speaker in the program. BJP Pahadi District workers and local residents observed 'Samvidhan Hatya Diwas' by tying black bands on the day of imposition of Emergency. Speaking on the occasion, Billawaria accused the Congress Party of murder democracy for personal benefits.

He said that 50 years ago, to save power, Indira Gandhi put the Constitution on hold and imposed Emergency in the country. He added that the name of Emergency, the fundamental rights of the citizens were crushed, those who protested were put in jail and even the freedom of the press was taken away. He said that the people who are appealing for the Constitution today, their family itself had imposed Emergency in the country, remembering which millions of people shudder even today.

He said, Congress today accuses BJP of being anti-Constitution, but history is witness that the Congress has made the Constitution amendments the most number of times. He further said that congress party also injustice to the Constitution maker Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. Billawaria appealed to the BJP activists to bring to the notice of the people the misdeeds of the Congress party which roams around with the Constitution book in its hands.

BJP District Pahari President Gopal Krishna, DDC Vikram Singh, DDC Narayan Dutt Tripathi, former Chairman Municipality Gopal Sharma, Mandal President TikkaSharma, Suman Lata and other senior leaders were present.
