JAMMU: Dr. Narinder Singh, BJP National Secretary and MLA from R.S. Pura – Jammu South Assembly constituency, along with Dr. Rajeev Bhagat, MLA from Bishnah Assembly constituency, held a public darbar at the Bharatiya Janata Party Headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
The public darbar witnessed a large turnout of citizens and deputations from across various areas of Jammu, including Gangyal, Hajipora Last Morh Gandhi Nagar, Allah, Arnia Bishnah, Pasgal, Prithvipur, Chak Chimna, Harse Dhabbad Amer Naar, Ratnal, Karyal Brahmana, Upper Chowadi Ward-3, Chowadi, Digiana Ashram, and Ward-68 Lower Jallochak among others. The deputations presented a range of civic and developmental issues before the senior BJP leaders.
Key grievances raised included construction and clearance of central and deep drains, damaged or choked drainage gratings, replacement of damaged transformers and electric poles, installation of new street lights, and urgent need for community sanitary complexes in Amir Nagar Bishnah, Mata Di Talai, Kothe Sani, and Karyal Brahmana. Residents also highlighted the scarcity of drinking water, defunct OHT in Chowadi, the need to change ration dealers, and overall improvement of lanes and bylanes.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Narinder Singh termed the public darbar as BJP’s commitment to grassroots engagement and efficient redressal mechanisms, with a strong emphasis on direct interaction with the people. He said this reflects the party’s resolve for transparent and accountable governance.
Dr. Singh said, “The BJP remains committed to ensuring that every voice is heard and every genuine concern is addressed. This public darbar is part of our continuous outreach efforts to bridge the gap between the public and the administration. Wherever immediate intervention was possible, we have personally contacted the concerned officials.”
Dr. Rajeev Bhagat added that BJP firmly believes in responsive governance. He said that they have prepared detailed representations for the issues that require follow-up and forwarded them to the appropriate departments. He further stressed that the issues registered will be monitored to ensure timely redressal. The proceedings of the event were coordinated by Er. T.K. Sharma, Co-convenor of the BJP Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, ensuring smooth interaction between citizens and party leadership.
