- Department of Strategic and Regional Studies commemorates CRPF Heroes with Poignant Event, Reinforces Commitment to Nation’s Security
JAMMU: The Department of Strategic and Regional Studies (DSRS), University of Jammu, organized an event today to commemorate the supreme sacrifice of the CRPF personnel who lost their lives in the Pulwama attack on February 14, 2019. The event, held in the department's Seminar Hall, brought together students, research scholars, faculty members, and staff to honor the martyrs and reaffirm their commitment to national unity and security.
The program commenced with a moment of silence, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp as a mark of respect for the fallen heroes. Mr. Harsh Khajuria, an M.A. Semester II student, provided a brief yet poignant account of the tragic incident. This was followed by a patriotic poem recitation by Mr. Piyush Choudhary, also from M.A. Semester II. Mr. Anil Sharma, another student from the same semester, delivered an insightful talk on the vital role of security forces in safeguarding the country's borders.
The event was presided over by Dr. Mohd. Monir Alam, who emphasized the importance of remembering the sacrifices made by the armed forces to ensure the safety and sovereignty of the nation.
Ms. Prachi Sharma, an M.A. Semester II student, efficiently conducted the proceedings of the event. The event was attended by the Dr. Ganesh Malhotra and Dr. Ranjan Sharma, along with research scholars, students, and staff members of the department.
The program concluded with a collective pledge by students and faculty to uphold the spirit of nationalism and contribute towards the nation’s progress and security. The tribute not only honored the martyrs but also served as a reminder of the resilience and valor of India’s armed forces.
