JAMMU: An interactive session was held in Nehru Hall Boys Hostel, University of Jammu, under the guidance of Prof. Lalit Sen, Provost of Boys Hostels. This session was organized in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, demonstrating the University's commitment to adhering to newly adopted governmental norms.

The session featured Prof. Prasannanshu, a distinguished faculty member from National Law University, Dwarka, New Delhi, who engaged with the scholars and residents of Nehru Hall Boys Hostel.

The event saw the participation of several scholars from diverse disciplines, including Vijay Sen (Computer Sciences), Preteek Sharma (Chemistry), Anchal Singh (Economics), Deepu Tiwari (Statistics), Gagandeep Singh, and Arun Kumar (English Department), among others.

Dr. Joginder Singh, Warden of NHBH, and Dr. P.P. Singh, Resident Warden of NHBH, were also present. During the address, Prof. Prasannanshu emphasized the significance of research and research methodology, highlighting the essential do's and don'ts. He asserted that a successful academic career necessitates a robust publication record, substantial experience, and an active literary circle that fosters interdisciplinary interaction.

He stressed the importance of stepping out of one’s comfort zone and adopting a work culture with an open-minded approach, ultimately contributing to the nation's academic and societal development.
The scholars actively participated by posing several pertinent questions, enriching the interactive session. The primary objective of the session was to enlighten scholars about the myriad opportunities available to them post-doctorate and to address their queries. Dr. P.P. Singh also contributed valuable insights and advice during the session.
In recognition of his dedication and service to society, Prof. Prasannanshu was felicitated by the wardens and scholars. The session was further graced by Dr. Nitan Sharma, Faculty of The Law School, who has previously collaborated with Prof. Prasannanshu in supporting students from various academic backgrounds. Mr. Avinash Choudhary, a student from The Law Department, University of Jammu, and Chiarman of the Border Welfare Organisation, also shared his thoughts on drug abuse and the critical role academics play in combating this societal issue. This session  provided a platform for meaningful dialogue and highlighted the importance of a multidisciplinary approach in academic research and societal contribution.
